Exactly. He made it sound a lot easier than it really is.

And having Hader do his thing sets the roles for the rest of the pen. Remember how god-awful the pen was before Hader came back? And some of those same assholes started pitching better when they slid back into their role.

We’ve also learned the hard way on starting pitching. For 11 years we could just plug any jabroni in and expect a 4 ish ERA at worst.

Starting pitching and guys like Hader don’t grow on trees (or in our lab), unfortunately.
