Well, there's angry for anger's sake and then there's just cause.
For example, no matter what the no-it-all Luhnow fanboys on a TCB say, seeing better potential options in the minors while we play undeserving guys at certain spots is painful. Using excuses like "we don't know what they're going to do in MLB" when they cannot possibly be worse or saying "no need to change the 40-man roster now" when we're trying to win a division now is irksome.
Otherwise, if we fall short with our best options, so be it. It would suck but the future is super bright.

We've matched our hit total from last night

But this season is its own independent season. What happened last year or the years before doesn't matter. And we've spent a large portion of this season in first place. If we collapse and don't make the playoffs, I think its justifiable to be angry about that. If it happens, I won't be happy and won't brush it off as "oh well, we weren't supposed to be here anyway."
Don't get me wrong, I won't be happy about it, but in the end, this is all bonus to me. I haven't watched much over the last few weeks because I don't want gray hair and I don't want to be frustrated every single night. I'll check in here and there and watch what I can. I'll be on nights until Monday morning. When I'm home, I'll usually watch the entire game. But by the 4th or 5th inning, you already get a feel as far as what's going to happen the next 4-5. Like clockwork
This season, like you said, showed that this organization is on the right path and we're in for alot of success in the next few years.
I won't be as disappointed this year than I believe I will be in the next few because starting next year, I'll be fully expecting playoffs...at minimum.

I despise Willie McGee's Twin as much as I despise Ryno.

And I'm pretty sure Tom Whatever is his best friend or actually him using another screen name to agree with him.
