Both guys have been wild but good this year so far. I mean they are clear upgrades over the Raley/bielak types easily

I just remember him last year and early this year looking so nasty. High 90s sinker with a hard swing and miss slider. I remembered him on Oakland and he looked like a completely different pitcher in shorter outings.

It’s Taylor Jones and Brett Conine. Despite the earlier trade dealing quad A players for really good back end relievers is not normal
I am still guessing the Cubs want to take a flyer on Jones the rest of the year and are sending cash or some lottery ticket to clear the 40 spot for us

If its true, my guess is its just a space move. Clears a spot off our 40 for more moves later this week and the Cubs may be looking for some 1B depth if they end up trading Rizzo. Probably a minor trade not something bigger.
