Well, if he ends up being a piece in “the deal”, it could help his value, b/c it might explain some of his struggles.

Let's hope it's muscle and not tendon related.

Could a Reddick, James, Kemp deal get MadBum rented?

Haven’t followed too much trade talk. I’m assuming we are going hard after a starter.

Who are the realistic names being discussed?

Kemp has no value and it would be a shock if they trade Reddick in-season.

Stroman, MadBum, Greinke, Ray, Boyd, Bauer (even though they are contending), Thor, Wheeler (injured)

Stassi has just about reached the same "GTFO" status as White. Is there a viable backup catcher out there somewhere who can be had?

Yeah, Luhnow was still dancing around that question today but admitted they were in on Maldonado. They have to get a better catcher than Stassi.

Yeah, Kemp would just be a kicker, but w Straw, you can call up Tucker, and you’re covered defensively and bench wise for sure.

Bum is all you really need this year as a starter, and allows you to keep Tucker

Correa can get you another MLB arm w control in the offseason

Largely no. Depends on what you value in a backup catcher. They're backup and not starters for a reason right? So a backup you can acquire is going to have their negatives just like Stassi.

I disagree. You can either get a better bat or, like going for Machete, get what is more important - a better defender than phony framer Stassi. Get a pro backup, not a minor leaguer pretending to be a pro.

I am all for trading Reddick earlier if they truly believe in Tucker. Plus, that could also open up even more PT for Jake and Straw as fast, good defenders who can bat 9th.

But they likely value Reddick's professionalism and role in the clubhouse way too much to do it during the season. Could easily cause a negative reaction.

How'd that go last year? If you're hoping to win a world series, you don't dump productive major leaguers in favor of unknown prospect commodities late in the season. Reddick isn't a star but you know what you're getting with him. Essentially, hes not a hole in the lineup and that's good enough. I'm not keen on letting Tucker sort through any adjustments through the stretch and into playoff series.

Reddick may need to be dumped in the off season but it makes no sense at this point.

Stassi is hitting .159, but it is misleading

He has 2 hits in 2 games in his 83 ABs

It actually plays like a .059

Just completely overmatched. Truly, White is a professional hitter compared to him
