So, Hinch said Carlos Correa is working out back in Houston and isn't doing any baseball drills. He won't return any time soon it appears. More to come.

Awesome. Remember he had resumed baseball drills, was fielding balls and bat swings weren't far off. Now it's back to no baseball drills. So obviously there's been a setback.

In all seriousness, the full extent of his injury has not been disclosed.

There are some very real concerns that he has the dreaded Bregmanitis

It's hard to know what to think without knowing the injury. But it does seem like a serious concern.

I think it's why Dick Justice mentioned Astros interest in Jose Abreu again today. If Correa needs surgery after all of this, Yuli to 3B and Bregs to SS opens 1B.

At the same time, there is absolutely no reason to be anything but overly cautious about his injury

While the division isn’t locked up by any means, as things stand right now all we should care about is him being 100% by October

Man that would be terrible news. But yeah sounds like he had another set back.

Brings us back to Castellanos, too. He can play first base (probably as well as Abreu can).

Could platoon him at 1B with Marwin, who hits right-handers well while Nick C. mashes lefties.

My best guess is a herniated disk of some significant severity. All joking aside...hes fine for the year and it appears he's made of glass.

Yeah Castellanos is def intriguing

Honestly if we have doubt correa can come back it brings Moose back into play as well. Could even see how cheap Donaldson would be from Toronto if we think he could get healthy down the line

Lunhow is gonna 2016 this one. The offense is down. Correa is done. Would have to empty the farm to have any chance at the pennant.

That's a good post to segway into tonight's contest.

Skaggs is 6-0 w a 0.84 ERA in his last 7 starts vs AL West teams and Keuchel gets first start after break to be the Fiers-like inning eater until the playoffs.

Abreu's favorite All-Star Game moment? "The (pregame) meeting with the manager from Houston, A.J. Hinch. It was a very motivational meeting. He treated us all with respect. It was a really nice meeting. He spoke from the bottom of his heart. It was very special."

If Abreu is acquired, Correa is going to Miami for Realmuto, everything they received as compensation for Stanton from the Yankees, 2 pitchers of our choice, and the Marlins fan.

It's hard to separate fact from fiction this time of year but if they're really looking into Abreu, that's bad news for Correa and I think he'd be done for the year.

Bregman is sitting in a beautiful position at 2-0 and Springer goes idiot at first base

I think the team would be better off overall with a "don't run unless the ball is hit" strategy with George.

Ump has a tight zone. Doesn’t bode well for DK
