Last nights game reminds me of waking up at 3am with a dry mouth and heartburn.

Manaea has only had 2 games where he hasn't given up an earned run... his no hitter vs Boston and his next start vs Houston at MMP.

Glad to see the team and DAT have been on a roll lately, excluding last night. It was the first game I got to watch in awhile. Starting a new job can be alittle stressful

The offense is long overdue a good showing vs a good pitcher.
I'm curious about the lineup after back to back lackluster performances and facing a good LH.

Are the Stros gonna decide to hit tonight fellas? They haven't done so the past couple games.

Well you should only have to start the DAT for one day.
I love this team, but we get shutout WAYYYY to often for an elite team(and we are elite). If someone is slow at work today, look up how many times we have been shutout this year. It has to be close to double digits. I would guess 1 or 0 runs would be around 15 games and shutouts around 7-8.

That's why we need to bring in a big bat!!!!

Shutout 6 times, 11 1 run games, most of our 1 and 0 run games all game before May 12 (12 times)
For Comparison:
Yankees have 4 shutouts, 6 1 run games
Red Sox have 3 shutouts, 6 1 run games
The sky is not falling

Logic? Logic??
Logic never fixes a sideways tampon.
But I agree, this team is strong. Yeah, it could be tweaked, but it I’m not even stressed.

It definitely should worry tLLC that we could end up a quality bat short in the AL playoffs. It's an arms race against fellow super powers so depending on Ted to be an answer as a rookie isn't ideal.
However, there aren't legit upgrades available among OF rental options.
Realmuto is the game-changer who fits best.

I somewhat understand the hand wringing as pertains to the offense, becuase they can be frustrating as hell sometimes, but what sets us apart from other teams is the pitching staff from top to bottom.
The only team that can boast a starting pitching staff as good as ours is the Indians, and their bullpen is horrific
The Red Sox and Yankees both have pretty good bullpens, but the starters aren’t as good (top to Bottom)
And our bullpen instantly gets better by moving Chuck or LMJ back there, plus it’s very likely they add at least 1 reliever to the mix
I’m not really concerned at all, if THIS is our “sleep-walking” through the season offense, it’s better than all but 3 or 4 teams’ peak offense

Also, I was just pursuing through Peacocks stats and it’s super weird
K/9 is up, BB/9 is down, he’s getting more swinging strikes, guys are swinging more both in the zone and out, they are making contact less, hard contact rate is down, but he’s got a 20.5% HR/FB rate.
If he can find a way to keep the HRs down, he’ll be just fine
ETA: GB% is down almost 10 pts also

Peacock is just hanging too many sliders, which can crap all over a lot of good pitching.

Agree, seems like he’s in the middle vertical zone too much, needs to be more in the top 1/3 and bottom 1/3
