The baseball Gods are angry. We must sacrifice one of our own to appease them and win a ball game. Vaya con dios de beisbol Ryno.

Right now he is playing better than Bregman and Springer is on the shelf, so who is better?

So tired of seeing White’s name on that lineup card

Yed looking at the lineup like

With Correa and Diaz out, we are stuck w/o viable options on the left side of the infield, so White is a given w Gurriel at 3rd.
They have abandoned Straw at SS and have abandoned Mayfield altogether. I have no problem with that, just amplifies how important Correa is, and how worrisome that is going forward, b/c Correa is not reliable, and likely not with the Astros beyond next year.
Back to this year, stuck w White til minimum AS break, possibly til trade deadline. I feel like looking up all time Astros records for futility driving in runs. Surely, Adam Everett was more productive. Willy Taveras couldn’t hit the ball out of the infield, still had to be more productive.

Bregman since Alvarez was called up 8/42 with 3 home runs, 13 walks, 9 strike outs, 0 doubles

Brantley would be the only one close.

Brantley is 15/45, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 4 RBI, 4 walks, and 5 strikes out since Alvarez debut

To be the man, you have to beat the man, and the Astros have done a poor job of that.

I know it was just one game, but it feels good to hear TK, Blummer, and Julia again.

Jmo, he’s homer happy this year and it’s affecting his avg and his ability to hit gaps. The telecast last night pointed out from bregman’s own admission he’s shooting for an astronomical OPS of 1.200. He hasn’t met an outside pitch he’d rather pull for a homerun and his pitch recognition is off compared to previous years.
It will be interesting to see if he and Altuve keep scuffling what AJ does with the lineup.
If they do, I could see a springer, Brantley Alvarez, correa first four followed by bregman Altuve reddick and yuli (who really needs to be replaced too with an abreu or smoak) and then chirinos.
