Joe LaForce to the DL with elbow discomfort. Reymin Guduan recalled. big blow as Joe had actually starting pitching well and Guduan is still walking everybody and their brother.

Guduan is pitching as well as he ever has this year. He's got a 3.10 ERA, allowed just 17 hits in 29 innings. He's striking out 13.3 per 9 but his walks per 9 is 5.6.

So both us and the marineers are on a 100 win pace. For all of our moaning in the DAT we are still on a 100 win pace and done with the toughest stretch of the season

We could win 100, and it still wouldn't remove the fact that we should have won 6-8 more games by now, easily.

I agree and I dont think you could talk to any player or management and they would argue. But on the other side of that is we are on a 100 win pace and havent played our best ball yet. We will have a stretch where all 3 aspects of the game are clicking.

What annoys me is that we wasted that stretch of dominant pitching with inconsistent offense. With that kind of pitching, we should have gotten out to a huge lead. We didn't and as we've seen lately, the pitching is starting to come back down to earth. They were never going to keep going out and allowing 1 or 2 runs every start all season. I don't feel like we took full advantage of it.

I'm anxious to see how Charlie responds to last night's performance in his next start. I wasn't able to watch until Devo came in, but those numbers were....not good.

He said it was unprofessional and bordering on an embarrassment

Said his delivery and tempo has gotten out of whack the last few starts (makes sense). Front side is flying open, leading to inside pitches being pulled, and outside pitches staying way out

I wonder how long it’ll take for him to get right

Carlos Correa should be back in the Astros’ lineup on Tuesday at Oakland. He said he feels great and should be available off the bench today.

Also,

After his start on Friday, Forrest posted a picture of himself pitching with the caption “Daddy’s Back”

I liked, "Has Gattis been released yet?" much better.

Bookmarked. I'll bump when Whitley wins his first Cy Young.

If you take Chuck at his word, he says his mechanics have gotten out of whack his last couple starts and he's flying open in his delivery. I mean aside from all the walks, something is obviously amiss when you hit 4 batters. Hopefully he and Strom can get it figured out.
