It's either a trade that has not yet finalized or an injury they don't want to disclose yet.

Or, a long-term MLBer is getting his walking papers.

Hopefully we dealt Valbuena for some lotto ticket prospects. If this was Gomez we wouldn't be calling up Moran. This would open the door for Moran and Bregman to play at 3B the rest of the year

If this team keeps sucking I wouldn't be shocked to see Bregman get some time in Houston this season.

I will admit it...I couldn't have been more wrong about him...based on what he is doing...I didn't see him gaining 20 lbs in one offseason...hope he keeps it up and becomes a big time major leaguer.

Moran has a chance to be a good starter long term compared to Kemp who is just a "better than the crap we've been rolling out there" replacement.

ETA: I hope you didn't just jinx his career right into the toilet.

Remember, when Bregman was at LSU, Mainieri was on his kick about players hitting the ball on the ground and using speed. The current balls fixed the problems with the new bats in the college game, but Bregman really didn't get the full benefits of it. That's why he didn't really bulk up in college.

I think his added pop is legit just like Altuve's is. Both have elite hit tools. Bregman is the real deal.

Amen. Bregman really probably needs to go to Fresno now and then only play a month there to be ready to come up. In fact, he just needs reps in LF and at 3B more than anything else to be ready for Houston at this point.

Haven't heard anything on Reed. Is Ludlow doing any radio soon? Or is he still hiding under his desk stabbing Phillips and Hader voodoo dolls?

Kemp has potential to be a nice bench player. Speed and contact hitter, can play some different positions. Right now I think he could just provide a nice spark

Kemp is pesky. I think he is better than you think. Most importantly he doesnt strike out like most of the slapdicks in the Astros lineup

Kemp is not better than I think. I like him as a short term solution at the very least. He is the perfect 9-hole hitter for this current team, at least versus righties.

He should probably hit 5th.

If we had Rasmus and Springer as the other two OFs you could live with zero power out of LF since you know those guys will combine for around 60 HRs if healthy. As long as Kemp is getting on base at .350+ IMO. Ideally he's a bench player though. Right now they just need to try anything to see what works in the short term

He might get chances at batting 2nd even, but I doubt the top 3 changes.

I just got out of a two hour meeting, I thought the DAT would have gotten to the bottom of this Moran stuff by the time it was over.
