He has Low-T(ed) disease. Smyly was throwing meatballs there, and Fatty McTubberson couldn't do shite with them.

White is occupying a roster spot for absolutely no reason at all. A younger guy could be up right now getting those at bats. A guy like fisher or miles who bring speed to the club and probably better obps.

Wasn’t JVs last crappy performance on this mound?

Look at it this way

ABs like the one we witnessed here are necessary to result in the desired change

I’m going to stump for Jake (again). You’ve got a potential 5 tool player who seems to have made some adjustments to cut down on strikeouts and looks improved at the plate. Give him more starts here early. If it’s not real, he can easily shift back to his current role.

Preach. The highest ceiling version of this team has Jake in center and batting 9th. If we had a legit DH to slot in either in front or behind Yuli, then you wouldn't need as much offense from that 3rd outfield spot.

He’s throwing strikes but badly missing his locations. Should have gotten a strike call on the first pitch to Santana but it was supposed to be an outside fastball not inside. There’s something not working for him at this park or on this mound. He struggled last game here too.

Wow, they should have challenged Altuve being off the bag at second

Offspeed after missing 2 fastballs, including a 2-0

We’re just an inning into this game and this ump has missed calls on at least 5 pitches

Even there, Jake took a very nice approach and battled. Smyly threw some good breaking balls.

Was gonna mention that. Got down 1-2 which usually ends in one more pitch and a strike out. Good at bat despite the out.

Did far better than George just now, who did get caught guessing fastball. The right approach with Smyly is look offspeed.

And the wrong approach with Altuve is to try to sneak a low 90's fastball by him on the inner half.

I really don’t think there is an approach for facing Altuve. He’s either hot or not

20-25% of his hits are not even strikes. LOL
