Allowing a guy with no extra base hots to hit back to back bombs is sad

I still think I prefer this over walking in runs.

Absolutely, but there are other quadrants of the zone he could try was what I was getting at.

Not sure our pitchers know where those are. It's so bad.

If we could have put this year's hitters with last years pitchers....

1st and 3rd no outs for Allen just have him try and bunt three times. He sucks and more than likely would do what he just did and account for 2 outs on one swing of the bat

Why is this turd even playing today? Lope should be playing LF, Paredes 3B, Correa SS and Yed DH.

How can you not have your best possible lineup out there when your pitching is absolute garbage?

And of course the pitcher can't give you a quick zero after you finally mount some offense.

Boy this Burrows character is a real a-hole isn't he? At least hes made it into the 5th. Which basically makes him our ace at this point.

Dana Brown completely whiffed on pitching this offseason. This jabroni was penciled as our #2 and is worse than Colton Gordon and Costanza.

Eleven hits before making it to 80 pitches. Quite economical. At least he hasn’t walked anyone yet.

ETA: He made it through 5. What a miracle.

Been mulling it over and there is a very very good case that they should fire Dana Brown prior to the draft.

The injuries are a mix of bad luck/bad organizational practices and he's only as good as the budget he's been given but this is beyond dreadful to start the year. Biggest thing for me, this draft is very important with a lot of picks. He's not on a contract after this season, how do you give him the keys to and autonomy to run the draft? They probably shouldn't hire from within after he's gone, but shite man name a figure head and let your analytical and player dev that will probably stay within the org make the decisions.

It's not all Dana's fault but there is just no sense in watching this, KNOWING that what he's fielded the last three years have not been good enough, and then letting him draft whenever it makes no business sense to keep the man as your GM.

idk just thoughts from my dumb brain as I sadly listen to the Astros at work.

Look at my ace out there piling up innings. A full 6 innings and just 1 walk allowed. You have to be pleased with the progress the pitching made today.

It doesn't matter what dudes or configurations the Astros run out there they are just never going to hit Kirby and Gilbert.

Pretty sure the radio broadcast said that Kirby has logged over 50 innings against them and has not surrendered a HR.

Wait wait wait wait.

Now Joe pinch hits Loperfido in the 8th down four with no one on base and not when Nick fricking Allen had 1st and 3rd with 0 outs after three straight knocks? Outcome probably doesn’t change but holy shite the process is so wretched
