I don't see Fiers as a number two at all honestly. He's a solid back of the rotation guy, McHugh is a solid mid rotation guy. I like McCullers a lot and he has the best stuff of those three, but he's still developing and is still very young. Leaning on him for 180+ innings plus big postseason innings is a lot to ask next year, he's still just 22. I think he will be that kind of guy in the future for sure but it's not going to happen overnight

Out of the rotation arms mentioned so far this offseason Carrasco is the guy I like the best. Several years of control, not a ton of wear and tear on his arm (though he had TJ a few years back) and his peripheral numbers were really good last year. He would probably be pretty pricey though

Oh I wasn't saying I like Fiers as a #2, I was just saying I'd put him ahead of Gallardo (but behind LMJ and Jabroni).

Carrasco would be the type of guy that would cost Gomez or Springer. One we would like; the other we would HATE.

Drellich just tweeted we have interest in Yovani Gallardo. Probably would require a 4 year contract. This definitely intrigues me

Yeah I would not be okay with giving up Springer for him and I really don't see JL doing that

I think it would be something like VV, Martes or Musgrove, and one of the guys we drafted this past year like Eshelman.

For a 25 yo closer with two straight sub 1.80 seasons though. I can see them wanting Musgrove or Martes.

But:

If they like Obie, they should LOVE Fields. He has closer stuff! Do it, Philly!

Maybe VV Obie and Musgrove. I like Musgrove but I would still like this deal I think

No no no no no. That would be awful. Guduan, Paulino or Ferrell? Sure.

Paulino and Musgrove aren't that far apart for me. Musgrove is much more polished but Paulino has crazy potential similar to Martes. JMO
