I wouldn't give Musgrove and VV for a reliever.

For that we should get the entire city of Miami and to bang his wife whenever we want.

If VV is the headline I don't see martes, Reed or musgrove being involved. Interested to see if they trade one of our 2 top outfielders

Reed will be competing for the starting job this spring. He isn't going anywhere unless it's for a headliner.

Source says Astros & Phillies have talked about a package for Ken Giles that would center around Vincent Velazquez, plus 2 more prospects

I can get down with this. Wouldnt even mind if Appel was one of the other 2 prospects.

That's my point. VV is good but I see martes and musgrove being more valuable. I don't think they would be involved either

George King reports that the Yankees have specifically talked to the Astros about hard-throwing, 23-year-old starter Vincent Velasquez. Presumably that’s the kind of pitcher the Yankees would like to get back in a Miller trade, and King notes that the Yankees could either use Velasquez in their own rotation, or they could look into flipping him to the Marlins for young outfielder Marcell Ozuna (presumably contingent upon trading Brett Gardner for yet another pitcher).

Looks like the Yankees could potentioally just flip VV anyway.

I'm less inclined to trust people who pair these two words.

According to Drellich, Astros are interested in Gallardo

No thanks.

Drellich just tweeted we have interest in Yovani Gallardo. Probably would require a 4 year contract. This definitely intrigues me

I just like what we have now, especially with guys in the minors who may be ready sooner rather than later.

He rejected a qualifying offer. We'd give up our first round pick...to the Rangers.

I think we need to add a starter (or perhaps bring back Kazmir). If we have our rotation from last year sans Kazmir that would be by far my biggest concern about this team. It might be enough in the regular season with optimum health but you aren't winning a postseason series with Jabroni and McCullers behind DK, I'm sorry. Unless McCullers really develops some other off speed offerings. We need another guy that we are confident in getting through 7 innings, a solid #2. I'm not sure if Gallardo or Kazmir is that guy though

Yeah frick giving up a pick for Gallardo

I get what you're saying. But, if not for our bullpen, we would have beaten the eventual WS champs with that group last year.

I would trust those two guys over Gallardo. He's a back of the rotation arm of you ask me. Why can't we win with LMJ and Jabroni? I believe in Fiers as the #2 more than Gallardo.

We had to dip into the pen pretty early in 2 of the 3 losses though- 6th in game 2 and 4th or 5th in game 5. I'm sure we will upgrade the bullpen this offseason but it's still not going to be a unit that can consistently carry your club from the 5th or 6th to the final out in the postseason.
