The Dodgers get the late spot because they have a lot of fans and they’re on the west coast. I’m not saying I like but it’s not changing any time soon. I don’t know I find it hard to give a shite about it at this point because it’s the expectation

Yeah I dont get MLB Network either. I guess I am going to the bar.

Yeah but the game today could have very well been against the As but they didn’t get the same consideration. It was set prior to the wild card game
I just want the mlb to at least admit it that they only care about the Yankees and dodgers. Hell we couldn’t even get night games against the Red Sox in the alds

I know no one wants to admit, but come on guys. NY and LA will ALWAYS have priority. ALWAYS

Somehow the Dodgers get the late spot reservation because their “fans are on the west coast” but the same principle gets ignored on our side

Do the Mets or Angels get the same treatment in this scenario? They're in NY and LA but are the "second" team without the same level of following.

Nobody cares about the A’s same as Tampa. Again I don’t know how this was a surprise.

The game times the last few years are pretty much that. They’re the two largest fan bases in baseball. I think a more interesting discussion is if they should be scheduling games where they overlap more but all are later. I assume MLB has done the research and determined they shouldn’t but I dunno.

I would be willing to bet that they would.
The Angels run was a decade ago so I don’t remember the time slots back then. I was probably drunk.

It may be a tad melty but it pisses me off that for the foreseeable future I will miss at least some of all but 1 game in a DS series. There is only one weekend game in the DS on a yearly basis so that means 2 of 3 or more will be afternoon weekday games. The Yankees and the Astros seemingly aren’t going anywhere so unless we are playing each other the Houston fans will be screwed at the biggest time of the season every single time and the commissioners office has no problem with that. It’s a screwed up situation and the talking heads don’t acknowledge that. In fact they made fun of Bregman last year when the Indians Astros series was a premier matchup of young stars that should have been used to market the game to untapped markets. Instead it was 1pm on a weekday

And the treatment they’re given only perpetuates that. frick ‘em.

No. I think they need to overlap the games because there is no one except diehard fans watching games at 1pm anyways and some diehards can’t watch it

The overlapping games thing is an interesting discussion and i wish they would try it. Start at like 4/5:30/7/8:30 ET or something
There’s typically only two days a year where it’s an issue, that’s today and Monday. I don’t see it being that big of an issue as far as limiting viewers but maybe I’m totally off

I've never really paid attention to the yankee start times, but the dodgers rarely get primetime starts for the LDS. They usually put us somewhere between 8:30 and 9:15 central on the 4 game days

Still much rather Abreu over Miley or Rondon. No reason for this tbh. I think that's a mistake.

Yeah it seems like it’s that way even if it’s an east coast team like the Nats last night. Yankees always get the ideal slot from what I remember.

Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, Phillies, Giants, and probably the Cardinals are always going to be above the Astros in MLB's pecking order.
That's not going to change anytime soon.

And our east coast games are usually mid day. We only consistently get night games when in LA

If what you say is true (and i would argue it is) they claim they want to market young stars but they really don’t.
Alex Bregman Jose Altuve and George springer are 3 of the most marketable players for the league to put out there and each for different reasons.
Bregman has the show boat cockiness combined with a true obsession about the game.
Jose’s diminutive stature and being turned away from try outs only to sign with said team and become a league MVP
Springer has talent and overcome his stuttering issues to become seemingly one of the most comfortable players being the one of the most marketed and interviewed Astro.
But no rather than have relatable stars to kids to grow the game let’s focus on the underachieving cubs and Phillies and boring cardinals

They might also be betting on there being more Astros games in the future of this post-season.
You know MLB would jizz themselves over another Astros/Yankees ALCS. And how depressed would they be if it's Rays/Twins?

I don't think they really care too much about the LCS matchups
They just want dodgers vs Yankees or Astros
