Oh I agree and have said for a long time, the scandal broke him. So I get him wanting to have a closer eye on things. But I still don’t get how he didn’t realize that winning the Series last year was still a function of the guys that Luhnow put in place plus the few pieces that Click added than anything Dusty did. Mind blowing to me that he allowed himself to be influenced so much by those three turds.

I truly have no ill will toward Dusty, and he served a purpose as someone to take the heat off the scandal and unify the clubhouse. 2020-2022 he also managed quite well in the postseason. But I sure wish he’d called it after the title last year, and I won’t miss his nonsense during the regular season

I think the biggest thing going into next year is learning how to score runs and winning in this park again. I mean it is unfathomable how shitty this team played at home over the last month and a half.

Credit the Rangers for winning the series but this had more to do with the Astros mindfricking themselves at home. It is completely in their heads. We play four “home” games at any other park other than Minute Maid and we win that series in 5 games easy.

Us not scoring runs in our own park against any opponent for the last month and a half is absolutely a thing.

He screwed us out of multiple wins this season with his lineups and he is lucky to have the talent he has to make up for himself. I wish him a great retirement, but it’s time. Same with Maldy, he looked like the Stay Puff marshmallow man in that white uniform tonight trying to throw people out. Good Riddance to both I hope.

Yep. He pissed me off so much, but it was passable the first few years because even he couldn’t screw up the talent differential from the rest of the division. Knew it was going to be hairy this year if he did the same shite and it was an absolute grind filled with constant bad decision making.

And yes he was good in the postseason all the way up until these final two games. The players didn’t hit with RISP, but he made so many bad decisions in this short stint.

It just made too much sense for him to hang it up AFTER finally getting the ring and not being run out of town. Why would he even risk his legacy amongst a fan base at 73 years old? Just an egotistical monster

I fricking hate him managing my team but I'd shoot the shite and talk a baseball life with the man. I understand why he's well liked as a person. But damn his stubbornness as a manager.

Who the next manager is matters a lot less imo than who is making the decisions in the FO. Hopefully the end of Dusty also means the GM is actually in charge. Or hire a president.

And Crane is gonna have to spend some fricking money

The Rangers have an "offensive coordinator" and a hitting coach. Idk what that means but hire one of those guys please.

Yea all of their guys on the postgame keep talking about how much they worked to get to Javi’s fastball tonight. They drilled something into their hitters and they executed.

And one of the sideline guys said something about the Rangers guys felt good mechanically but a bunch of the Astros players were still tinkering this late

Before 2022 I would have agreed with you. I didn’t think he was a good manager even before that but what I’ve seen the last two years was just a straight up stubborn prick that was hellbent on doing it his way even when it was obviously not working and directly shitting on his own front office. Letting MM hit tonight down 6 runs with the starter long out of the game was the ultimate flip off to the fans, media and GM, and showed once and for all who he truly is.

Is that more effective than "hey man, just go on up there and swing. You know. Hey"

He really let France wear 4 earned runs then showed he was willing to use Neris and Abreu for multiple innings early. I’m going to be at a loss on that decision for a long long time.

Last remarks on this year, it wasn’t always fun but in totality I really liked following this team on a daily basis. Battled through a bunch of injuries, had some incredibly low lows and really high highs. If the worst result during this run is a 90 win regular season and 7 game ALCS that’s not too bad. I’ll never take for granted what I’ve been able to watch from my favorite team in my favorite sport over the last seven years. Looking forward to following the off season with all the DATers.

Retard manager and POS catcher are gone. The chances that the daily fan experience will be enjoyable and not infuriating is truly great news.

Guaranteed he's going to play the victim on the way out. He was coaching with 1 hand tied behind his back, he wanted a starter and they didn't get him one. It was never Dustys fault.
