It sounds promising, especially if you believe in Matthews. More likely than not we miss on both Bregs and Alonso, and the FA market after that is awfully thin.

I’ll just have a hard time believing Crane will be a major player in the FA mkt until I see it. So far, his “big” deals have been Abreu and Hader, and in neither case did I feel like it was a situation where we were the big dog that held off a slew of anxious bidders to get them. Brantley to me has been by far our best FA acquisition and although he was great, again I didn’t see us (or at least I don’t remember) having to fight this big battle to get him.
Start battling the big dogs and winning a few and I’ll believe it.
