Well you said get a clincher at home with Sale/Price, but one of those guys is going to throw in Houston.

Fair. I misspoke. I also just dont think HFA means all that much in baseball. That crowd was great last night and had little impact. And we lost at home with our best pitcher on the mound.

The way you said it the second time made a lot more sense.

Not that Verlander is a sure thing, but I always like the Astros' chances when he's pitching.

The crowd never really got a chance to get into it. I felt like the crowd was drinking lean and not beer but that’s because the bats didn’t string together anything too exciting.

And there wasn’t one strike out front DK. Just nothing that really go the juice box going

I have a long history of debating Springer as a leadoff.

After reading Keith Law's Smart Baseball, I'm willing to concede the point in so much as it relates to total ABs over the course of a season, but when Hinch is arbitrarily resting starters, they're missing ABs anyway, so I would prefer a better base stealer/runner as leadoff.

But when you treat SBs like SAC bunts, that doesn't factor in too much either. The paradigm shift that has occurred is far from being perfect, but there is no denying it is here to stay.

Personally, I like Cora's adaptation over Hinch's given one season of data.

I like Springer leadoff with a fully healthy lineup top to bottom, but right now no one at the bottom is getting on for him when the lineup turns over, and no one is protecting Bregman.

Guys, we are ignoring the trolls today. We aren't doing a good job right now of doing so.

AJ doesn't frick with the lineup in the post season. He pretty well sticks with a run what you brung philosophy. But if he was to try to maximize a banged up offense I'd go with

Altuve
Marwin
Bregman
Springer
Correa
Yuli
Reddick
Maldy/McCann
Kemp

From an opposing fan perspective, this is the line up that would make me most uncomfortable:

LF Kemp
DH Altuve
3B Bregman
CF Springer
2B Marwin
SS Correa
1B Guriel
RF Reddick
C McCann

This is what I think the Astros will go with:

CF Springer
DH Altuve
3B Bregman
2B Marwin
1B Guriel
SS Correa
RF Reddick
C McCann
LF Kemp

With all the allegations of cheating flying, I don't think anybody is gonna let us get away with Springer hitting twice in the order

It would be a lot cooler for you if they did.

Sorry. Meant to take him out of the 4 hole.

You don't think switching jerseys to "Dinger" and wearing Bobby Valentine's fake glasses & moustache is going to fool anyone?

I don't mind PearlJam so much. He's been here the whole series before, during and after games. Not like the other trolls who wait till the Sox take a safe lead and show up to shitpost.

Longtime lurker, first time poster in the DAT. On my way into town now from BR. Buddy of mine (lifelong Stros fan and a DAT lurker too ) got me on the bandwagon starting in 2015 and it's been a damn fun ride ever since. Made my first game last year...Game 5 against the Dodgers. Best sporting event I've ever gone to without a doubt.

Need some suggestions on where to pregame when I get there. If any pf you baws in Houston are looking to go I'll have an extra ticket tonight more than likely. Row 2 in one of the bullpen box sections.

As much as the Astros were the heartwarming story last year, they're quickly becoming the unlikeable bad guys. In the words of Astros franchise Icon Congbot, "frick 'EM!"

I think there's only one solution to the Astros' current woes.

Congerbot throwing out the first pitch, in Congerbot mode, with Bill Spiers at catcher.
