This is an organizational thing. Dusty actually did a good job of poo pooing that and using his eyeballs/gut

I could really see this. Stupid analytics probably have stats on 3rd time through. But you have to look at how your pitcher looks with your eyes as well.

It’s less about pulling Lance, which is dumb in itself, but it’s the fact we’re using Yuli with Maton in the pen

Hell yes Yimi. Will never agree with the decision, but that's a massive clean inning.

Gonna need some more runs.

Dusty’s autistic decision is probably some MLB analytical stat phenomenon

I just can’t help but feel managers lose their minds in the postseason and make unnecessary changes. Let your stud pitcher pitch man. So many quick pitching changes

Dusty Baker is trying to kill me. Lance and his body language said I’m going to kill Dusty.
I don’t get it.

I never like it, but I sort of get it when you have an elite pen.

We do not

Also, did Urkel have his arm amputated?

We probably win the 2019 World Series if hunch goes to Cole for the start of the 7th in game 7 instead of riding greinke bc he looked good

Of course they do.

Lance on the season saw a moderate increase in OPS against the second time through and a smaller increase going from the second to the third.

.542 to .649 to .731

All three numbers are better than league average.

For his career it's .616 to .644 to .756. All good numbers overall.

FWIW, Yimi had a .646 OPS against with the Astros this season.

ETA: And of course none of this takes into consideration how Lance was actually pitching this game.

I'm going to believe Strom, who is not remotely guilt free about how bad the bullpen has been, is pulling these strings.
