We're not going to use any playoff arms extensively with HFA secured.

We will use our playoff lineups hoping to see Boston's arms though.

You think you guys would start Keuchel on Sunday if you were a game up on Cleveland for homefield throughout the AL playoffs?

That would mean he'd be on normal rest for Game 2 of the LDS on Friday.

Tough call. I say let it play out. We may sweep the redsox.

It's a hell of a question. I mean, Jabroni has been pretty good so we can always start him and treat it like a normal game.

We're playing really well but a 4 game sweep... not so sure.

Was just curious. I know Cleveland owns the tie-breaker, so no chance you start him if you're tied. Have to be a game up.

No, b/c the advantage of starting w NY is starting Keuchel in Game 1, lining up Verlander for Game 1 in ALCS

Could also make Brian Kenny’s fantasies come true and bullpen the game

I expect that's what will happen if the game means nothing. Every meaningful postseason reliever will get work. Maybe even Jabroni comes out of the pen to see how he handles it.

What was Bstons record against us and Cleveland? Too lazy to investigate. They'll be the visitors regardless. What say y'all?

Starting with NY? You guys would only play New York in the first round if you finished with the best record

Unless, of course, the Yankees catch Boston in the East.

But those two would likely be parallel events. We need to win out, and a sweep of Boston would open the door wide for the Yankees. If Estrada stays hot and drops the Sox tomorrow, they could be playing tight against us this week.

Why else would we consider throwing good arms vs a team they will definitely face in first round?

I mean WTH are you even asking about if it's not the Astros improving their path?

Eh, Cleveland is still essentially two games up on Houston, and they finish with the ChiSox.

Even if Houston takes 3/4 from Boston this weekend and finishes 4-1 in their last 5 overall, it's not inconceivable at all that Cleveland still holds onto the best record. They would just have to go 3-2.

To finish with a better record than Cleveland and get homefield over them. My question was pretty self-explanatory.

See above. It is about Houston improving their path.
