Yeah, I mean the Yankees run differential is the 2nd highest in baseball, and they've blown a million saves and have a horrible record in 1-run games. Basically, a lot of bad luck.

They should legitimately be a 100-win team. They are BY FAR the most underachieving team in baseball this season.

Not to mention they are the hottest team in baseball right now.

So no, they probably aren't paying attention, honestly.

Yes. Certainly the hottest. All the press should focus on them. There is no team that has a better record over the last 10. None.

Fine. ONE OF the hottest teams in baseball.

For the record, I'd much rather play Cleveland than the Astros. I think the Indians are a better team, but the Yankees have played them a lot better than they have the Astros over the last 3 years.

It's possible we play Boston 8 games in a row. That has to be a record right? Hopefully we only play them 6 times in a row.

We play them 4 times this weekend so it’s a possible 9 in a row with the minimum being 7

I think 7 is the number you are shooting for....4 times this weekend, then a 3 game sweep in the best of 5

Back in the day, there were 4 World Series which were the best of 9 instead of best of 7. In 3 of those (1903, 1919, and 1921), the series went 8 games. Those are the only examples I know of.

I've been paying attention, honestly.

My mind has been made up for a while now.

Our pitching lines up better vs the Yanks first, then CLE or BOS, and our lineup does better vs Yanks

BOS's lineup is more capable of doing damage vs HOU than NY's

There is a reason you would prefer CLE over HOU

I'm waiting patiently for tonight's DAT... I'm anxious to find out what new inside stories you bring.

As for the playoffs -- I really don't care who the Astros play first. Every team that is going to make the playoffs has the pitching and offense to win October. Sure, Colorado and Minnesota might be the two weakest links -- but even they have potent offense with good enough pitching to get through.

It will be hard to top last year's World Series for pure baseball entertainment. But I'm hoping the Astros are up to the task.

Full disclosure, you can find this stuff on the internet. Actually surprised baseball guys that frequent these type of threads were unaware of the references I made.

I had heard about Odor's little brother's incident directly from a friend with knowledge of Dominican affairs, but the references I made were only corroborated.

There's just something about the Latin population that doesn't allow their culture to have taboos. Moises Alou was interviewed once and asked about any tips he passes along to younger ball players. Somehow the conversation turned to toughening up the hands and getting a better feel without using gloves for batting purposes. He was taught at an early age to urinate on his hands. The uric acid over time would callous the palms and make batting gloves unnecessary.

Now, the Pedro story is one of my favorites. I have to check on something here at the office, but I'll post it in a few minutes.

Story goes something like this.

Celebrity golf tournament that Pete and Steve Sax played in. Pete tells Sax one time he hooked up with a girl back home in the DR, and they were going at it when her husband showed up. Pete starts apologizing, but he's such a hero there, the guy was fine with it.

They start double teaming her. Pete tells Sax, "I'm doing her. He's doing her. She's sucking me. He's sucking me."

Sax says, "Pete, he's sucking you? Isn't that kinda gay?

Pete says, "No, man. He's sucking MY cock."
