Dak was the lone bright spot to the Cowboys start.

He’s getting 75 million of the 164 million in year 1. This will only hurt the cowboys in cap for next season only. It’s a smart deal that basically pays him a large chunk up front as a thanks for the past few years, then after year 1 taking away that big chunk of the 75 million from the 164, you’re looking at 89 up to 89 million over the course of the next 3 seasons. Just under or at 30 million a year won’t be as big a hit with the market for QB’s today.

Jerry knows the Grim Reaper is coming for him and desperately wants to win one without Jimmy.

Unfortunately for him he just blew his chance.

I wonder how much Jethro is going to raise the price of tickets to cover this ridiculous deal?

Umm it’s way more since Texas has no income tax. So over 8 games he will pay none. Then if he plays in Florida any there’s none

His agent will get 12.6 at most

Cowboys have a lot of money locked up in a RB and a QB

they will let Zeke walk after his deal is played out.

but 40 million is going to hamstring Jerry.

the boys might eke out a division over washington but no one will worry about being a wild card on the road to Jerry Jerry world.

Jerry made that in two days during the Texas Ice Storm

Yet Comstock Resources is selling gas at prices ranging from $15 per thousand cubic feet to $179 per thousand cubic feet, a markup of between 600% and 7500% over pre-crisis levels

Lol I remember all the stupid people saying Jerry shouldn't sign him to $30M a year and how it was smart to franchise tag him.

Now Jerry is paying him over $40M after he already paid him above $30M last season when he got injured.

That angle has nothing to do with an argument based on cap space usage but I think the cowboys are smart to keep him.

There's not a lot of better options out there.

Russ maybe but who knows what he will do, Dak is the man in Dallas .

WTC93 High thoughts from the couch: the next evolution in tanking is front loading your elite QBs contract to take the brunt of the cap hit so you can be bad that first year then have a massive cap advantage for the other 4 years

Probably not, plus the NFL is about to double their TV revenue.

The salary cap is about to go up at least $30M in 2022. The big question is the cap this upcoming 2021 season.

Curious to see the contracts for Baker, Lamar, and Josh Allen. They are currently negotiating and will be announced in the next month or two.

Knew this would happen and knew the Cowboys would be stupid as hell doing it.
