Helfrich was the head coach but that was Chip's team.

It was one year removed I believe. Chip had Mariota for 2 seasons and he only played 3.

He hit the high road by the when the NCAA came calling via Pete Carrol.

Why is Chip so hyped up? I mean, he has never won anything of accoun

Is it possible to be a good coach and not not have a national title? Why is that the be all end all on this board? Are guys like Bill Snyder and Chris Petersen not worthy of any praise either?

He Coached 2009-2012

The frist CFP was 2014. Not Chip. Two seasons after he left.

Helfrich had Oregon at 4-8 just a couple years later so who deserves the credit?

Absolutely. Thats just one factor.. Like I stated, no doubt he ran wild in the Pac 12 but who really as good in the Pac 12 then? USC was down. Stanford was the main opponent and I think he lost to them twice in 4 years.

What were his big wins as a coach at Oregon other than the two Bowl wins?

He lost all the other big games he played in against teams outside of the pac. 2-2 in bowls Didnt he get smacked by the NCAA over recruiting violations as well? Cant remember that one exactly. Failed in the NFL Currently 0-3. I know its early but they look like dog shite

So only coaches with National Titles are good and everyone else sucks? Got it

Oregon in the 100 years before Chip Kelly: nothing
Oregon under Chip Kelly: perennial double-digit wins and BCS bowls, conference titles, multiple National Championship appearances

Mike Bellotti actually was the first coach to get Oregon consistently winning.

Granted, it wasn't on the same level as the four years Chip Kelly was the head coach. But there's no way Kelly is as successful from 2009-2012 without the strong player talent, coaching staff, and facilities from Nike money that Bellotti cultivated during his 14 years.

Some USC players took pay cuts after being drafted into the NFL.

My bad, you're right. You know more than you let on. Do you really need to wonder why he was wanted????

Gus Malzahn is 1-4 in bowls at Auburn. His lone win is vs an overrated Memphis team.

2009 Loses to Boise, Ohio State and Stanford. Best win was USC?
2010 Loses to Auburn - Best win was Stanford (Chips best year)
2011 Loses to LSU and USC - Best win Wisconsin
2012 Loses to Stanford - Best win was Kansas State?

Looking through the schedule, he has more wins against Ranked Opponents than I initially thought but they are all , or mostly, Pac 10 teams.

It’s PAC 12 now bud.

Pretty crazy a pac 12 team has more wins vs other pac 12 teams compared to wins over other P5 conferences
