USC isn't drawing it's football players from the student ranks
They're recruiting (semi)pro athletes. It doesn't matter how big the freshman class is.

Need to rebuild the Hollywood glitz and glamour fan base they had when they were doing NIL under the table.

Never seen a program so brainwashed by the anomaly of Tom Osborne's magical-mystery 3-year steroid run in the 90s to cloud their decision- making from such a high horse...

Nebraska fired Solich in 2003 after he went 9-3 that year.

quote:

Pederson’s said at the press conference announcing the firing of Solich – “I refuse to let the program gravitate into mediocrity”

quote:

Solich's 58 wins during his first six seasons as Nebraska's head coach exceeded those of his predecessors, Bob Devaney (53 wins) and Osborne (55 wins), both of whom are in the College Football Hall of Fame

Easily A&M

They have some of the deepest pockets of any school. And it’s not like they’re one of those rich schools that doesn’t care about football. They do and still have been mediocre to above average their whole history

Auburn had two guys play in my lifetime that you can argue were among the best college football players of all time.

Solich got fired because he was a drunk. They fricked up the replacements and they haven't been right since.

UF since Urban but we haven't spent near the money that A&M has.

Must not have too bad because he ended up winning four MAC championships at Ohio.

In the world of NIL I would have figured Arkansas would be raking in Top 5 classes year after year and handpicking who they want from the portal. I don’t know if they just can’t get Jerruh, at least one Walton heir, Dillards, and Tyson to buy into it or what.

I don’t know why Illinois football is more successful. Major school in a major conference and not much competition in state. But they have something like a .500 record and not many championships in modern history.

Only Purdue and Maryland spend less on football in the Big 10 than Illinois.
