There is zero benefit for these small school leagues to have the tournament decide who goes to ncaa. Name the regular season winner the rep and be done with it

I've always thought, at the very least, the regular season winner should get an automatic spot in the conference tournament final.

That's actually the fairest option if you HAVE to have these stupid fricking end of season Conference tournaments that negate the entire year...just for TV money.

Let all the others fight it out to beat you.

And if they do, you still don't get in...damned if you do, damned if you don't for small Conferences.

Are conference tournaments big money makers? Is that why conferences keep them?

For the big conferences I am sure they are.

For the one-bid conferences? I can't imagine they bring in much money at all. At this point it's probably more tradition than anything else.

Even the small conference tournaments are televised, so that's where the money is.

At one point this year Indiana State was ranked, they lost some games in February that hurt them.
