Why never bet the field? By my calculation, there are 16 ways to roll a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12.

How many ways are there to roll a 5, 6, 7, 8?

The field bet is there because it's a house friendly bet.

Even if you add all the field numbers up, you aren't getting paid out the true odds of winning. The field sucks because you should be getting paid more.

Yep, might as well just make a horn bet, it pays off more, and the odds are still shitty. I stay away from the prop box unless I am up a lot of money.

Any of yall see the new shitty rules on some of the Harrahs tables? I stopped in after Krewe Du Vieux (which also happened to be All Star weekend). So I roll up to the table, start playing, and notice it's a no craps table, essentially meaning you couldn't lose on the come out roll, only win with 7/11, but in turn 2,3,12 could become points. Soon as I saw that I picked up my money and went elsewhere.

That being said when playing on a normal craps table, I play the pass line and always back up my bets, sometimes I'll play the Come as well.

Funny story, I was playing at the Paris and it was me and an old Frenchman (ironic huh), I was betting pass and he was betting Don't Pass, and I was just lighting the board up. It was hilarious to watch him sit there and get pissed off hit point after hit point.

But you get 2x 2&12 which equals up to a payout of even money against your odds to win at that point.

I like taking the field on come out rolls along with an equal pass line bet.

Seriously, I'm good with percentages. Explain a better way to hedge my bet. Same money on horn? I guess that's an option

I don't know where you were but most Harrahs casinos just have these open during the day, and open the don't pass tables at night.

There are 22 combinations you lose on field bets. 16 ways to win. 22>16. That's why it's there.

If you can find places that pay 3-1 on the 12 it’s not a horrible bet…..but those places are getting harder to find

There are only 20 ways to lose vs 16 to win.

So you lose at a 5:4 clip but it pays even when you consider the 2x.

Got it. Thanks.

My bad, 20 is right. But you get it. Give me 5 to 4 odds over a bazillion rolls a year.

Lots of Vegas casinos pay 2-1 on 2 and 3-1 on 12. It makes the field even money (well, close to it)

Here are some odds for craps:

Pass Line: 1.41%
Don't Pass: 1.36%
6&8: 1.52%
5&9: 4%
4&10: 6.67%
Yo: 11.11%
Field: 2.78%
Hard 4/Hard 10: 11.11%
Hard 6/Hard 8: 9.09%

This is the house edge percentages. When you start playing behind the line, you can bring the pass/don't pass odds down obviously. As you can see here, the way most of yall play is not in your best financial interest.

Stick to Pass/ Don't Pass 6,8

Don’t remember seeing any on the strip the last time I was there but I may have overlooked it…..also seemed like you had to play $25 dollar/hand blackjack to get 3:2

All the low level table were paying 6:5

I've really done well before betting the opposite hard way.

Say the point is 6. I'll occasionally bet hard 8.

Or if point is four, I'm on hard 10.

Can turn 10 bucks into 2-300 before a point is hit sometimes

Pass line and back it up. The easier the number to roll the bigger the back up, and vice a versa. Play the come bets, not all at once just the whatever I feel might the thrower throw. I press to build up the bets, hopefully it does and then pull in after a press or two. Bet the hards usually 5 each and lots of times throw a yo also, even bet one for the dealers if I get on a roll. Have been helped out several times doin this. Like to split a 2/12 on the come out for 5 also. Love craps when winning, hate it when losing. Never have bet the don't, should have several times, but just don't like it.

There's no real strategy. Bet pass/don't pass and back it up with odds if you have a big enough bankroll. If you start winning and want to make sucker bets that may pay off huge, place center of the table bets.
