Yet he had every opportunity to squash the rumors and chose not to.

Yeah, CP3 could very well be saying this regardless of how the meeting went. Demps could have told him "Look, you want out, tell the media the typical bullshite about your being committed to playing here so we have more leeway next time someone makes an offer."

This CP3 situation will linger all season and mark my words...Paul will be dealt before the Feb. deadline!

I actually kind of agree with ol' Fletch here assuming the Hornets dont make any moves between now and then to improve the team....

If the Hornets are in the midst of another losing campaign and the Heat are blazing through the East he will start whining again - that is a certainty.

from what? he never officially said himself he wanted to be traded.

Exactly. All the stories have been 3rd or 4th hand stories coupled with rampant speculation. This is the first time that we've actually heard Paul's opinion.

Good point

But one more thing - it's to the advantage of both the Hornets and Paul to say he's not going to be traded no matter what IMO

Helps his trade value if he is ultimately moved and saves CP3 from harassment in the meantime either way

extremely unlikely actually.

not that he may never get traded, but i seriously doubt this is a big cover up to gain leverage(which wasnt lost to begin with).

It's certainly possible that the statements from both sides were made for tactical reasons.

But to whoever quoted Fletcher Mackel, puhleeeeaassse.

Me, too. Although I was scrambling like crazy to find a live feed of Demps' statement.

Its obvious the hornets are getting lowballed (if the reported trades have been true). You dont think they would do whatever possible to rake in some better offers. If he came out and said I demand a trade, they would continue to get shitty offers.

It just seems like CP's statement was generic and he was hiding something. Just my opinion though

If we can just stay healthy for one damn season then we will make the playoff run that CP desires

If I were Dell Demps I would've told CP, "We're committed to winning, therefore we are not trading you."

Unfortunately, we may have to use DC to unload a bad contract or get some better players. I like DC, and would love to see him stay in NO, but with a team like the Hornets (hurting for talent), we can't afford having our best and 3rd best players both be point guards.

It sounded like he was reading straight from a teleprompter comprised of typical PR bullshite.

I stand by my original thoughts on the matter: where there's smoke, there's mo'frickin fire.
