MOVE THEM TO HAMILTON OR QUEBEC.

Also, the NHL needs to start contracting teams. They have way too many teams in markets that simply aren't viable.

Seems like Glendale would pretty much do anything to get out of the $25 million per year agreeement.
Wonder who is lined up to buy them?

Just move them to somewhere in Canada where people will support them.

We're supposed to have the Coyotes-Stars preseason game on September 23rd here.

Unfortunately its pretty much exclusively depends on Les Alexander. If a NHL team is gonna play in the Toyota center, Les has to own them.

The preseason game would be at Reliant. I guess it's still pending.

I meant if a team moved to houston. I'm sure they can play a preseason game there.

Does Les have OT type money?

Seattle would support a team pretty well IMO. There would be an instant rivalry with Vancouver. I wonder if they could use the Key Arena though?

hell, i would be happy to at least get some NHL action in houston, at least i could go watch the habs play there. dallas and atlanta are just too damn far for me. NOLA? that would be heaven sent. but would it last here? prolly not. The panthers club needs to leave miami next.

More than the other big 3 leagues the NHL is more dependent on local ticket sales and boxes.
That's why teams in Winnipeg make more financial sense in the NHL today than teams in Atlanta or Phoenix or Nashville or Carolina. The thought that bigger markets like Atlanta and Phoenix over Hartford and Winnipeg would lead to bigger tv contracts didn't happen. Hockey just won't be a national game in the US with consistent tv money both national and local. Plus the Canadian Dollar is trading more evenly with the US dollar which helps the Canadian teams. The move of Quebec and Winnipeg was strongly influenced by that.
Now what's interesting is what will happen to the Euro and it's relationship to the US and Candadian Dollar. A lot of these European players could demand to be paid in Euros if the Euro trades stronger.

I would immediately have a 2nd team to root for in a NOLA franchise.
