I understand that, but the rules were no different either way. Just pointing out there was no obligation for Jordan to go to college.

Can thank Spencer Haywood for that bubba

It can't be argued he was ready for the NBA out of high school.

Again, two different worlds. NBA teams drafted in a "how can you help me now " way in the 80s. Since at least 95, it's been drafting on potential.

Look at the 84 draft. MJ was one of three juniors taken in the first round. The other two are also hall of famers.

Do you really think that Ewing would have stayed an extra year in today's climate? frick no.

You two are trying to use something against older players that makes zero sense.

You're the one that said that MJ wasn't NBA ready out of high school.

One great player rarely defeats a great team and that's a concept and theory that's generally always been proven since hell probably the beginning of time

LeBron is judged differently than literally any other athlete in this regard. For whatever reason, people knock him for the Cavs playoff losses in his first stint with them. If you took LeBron off and put prime MJ on those teams, they would have had the same results except they would have lost to the Pistons in 2007. Suck on that, nostalgia crew.

I don't think he was...

However, my point is this

At 33 years old, Lebron has the same amount of titles as MJ did in the season he turned 33.....

However, if I started that thread, almost everyone would then try and bring up "amount of years in the league." I am sure you would be one of them as well

Now, you don't want to go with years in the league though. You want your cake and go eat it too

1978-79 Lakers finished 47-35 fool. Before Magic.

Stop acting like Magic inherited some juggernaught.

And Magic played Center to win the title. Winning MVP of the Finals.

For a man-child, LeBron was a collosal let-down compared to those that came before him. He was not what was promised. Chosen One? Chosen to lose all the time in the playoffs?
god you're an idiot

LeBron coasted in the playoffs and didn't really try hard like Kobe.

Which can also explain longevity - if you just quit in a series like against the Celtics. Just stop playing...just not care...walk away...like he did. That's a little evidence to the Bill Simmon's theory.
That moment you realize this poster didn't know that Kobe actually quit on a game 7 playoff game.

Honestly, this thread has two of the best posts in MSB history

Bill russell had an unfair advantage because blacks weren't allowed back then

And

We compared the 1980 lakers to the 2004 cavs
On the same day we got a Wall/Kyrie/Russ is better than Curry argument.

You can't apply that argument to every situation. Again, you aren't an idiot and you know that you can't.

However, in this instance, you will act like you can apply it just to ensure that your point wins.

I don't remember that game too vividly but God was that loss humiliating for the Lakers, they blew a 3-1 series lead and Kobe stopped shooting the basketball the second half of game 7 to attempt to facilitate for his teammates, when that strategy clearly wasn't working he kept doing it and the further his team's deficit grew, that game 7 was a BLOWOUT BIG-TIME
