it doesnt even make sense. the spread cant die when literally every single team at every single level of football uses it concepts

The top defenses in the NFL have figured it out. Brees vs. Dallas, Goff vs. Chicago,

So Dallas has figured out the Saints, and the Bears have figured out Chicago, but neither team has figured out the rest of the NFL as well? The Bears and Dallas have given up more yards/points per game to teams not named LA and New Orleans, so am I to believe they're worse at defending the rest of the league?

Call me crazy, but I find it more plausible that the Rams/Saints had off nights than this idea that those performances are repeatable.

So Brees got shut down cause someone opened the window?

I don’t think OP has been to many games there including the saints one. It felt exactly the same as when the doors are closed.

Having issues in difficult weather has been a knock on pass heavy offenses for... oh I dunno 50 years now?

And does it really matter? The Saints and Rams are likely to be playing in LA/domes for the entirety of the playoffs.

Also I love how “top defenses” always leaves out the ravens. Who by the way have a better scoring defense than the bears and cowboys and have played both the saints and chiefs.

Not a fat fricking chance. Sorry Garrett continues to run the ole pro style, but no coach worth his salt can ignore how the spread has made guys like Mahomes, Mayfield, and Trubisky successful. It's an offense where you dont have to be 6-5 with perfect pocket presence and an arm that can hit a dime from 50 yards away. Hell the Patriots have been running it with Tom Brady for years.

Not to mention how the rule changes continuously favor the offensive players. Spread offenses are only going to become more prevalent, I have no doubt.
