nothing real

He mentioned that he defined the following as top 12 programs... and had apparently said earlier it was not Auburn tho... so that would leave 11 candidates

Bama
LSU
Auburn
Florida
Oregon
USC
Texas
Oklahoma
Wisconsin
Ohio State
Boise St.
Virginia Tech

LSU, TAMU, Auburn, Bama, or USC

all are as "guilty" as the others

I don't know if I believe that. We will see.

I don't care what people say, good kids from the south don't just hop up and go to Oregon. It has a lot to do with the weather. I don't care how many position coaches from Texas they have, or how much they have always recruited nationally.

That has been the basis of my theory, so I never had anything to actually back it up. But I just don't believe for a second that the best players (Lache) are going to pick Oregon over an SEC school, Texas, USC, Florida State, etc. unless there is something else going on.

the only really high profile guy is lache

he had soured on AU by that point, and i don't know if LSU was recruiting him that hard by the end, honestly (i think they gave up earlier)

darron thomas and lamichael james aren't super elite guys. schools like arizona and oregon feast on those under the radar/gimmick players from TX/Cali

i think the only 2 teams you listed that had a shot at lache at the end were USC and LSU

What was Oregon's recruiting class ranked last year?

They were both 4* guys from the state of Texas. They were good players.

I know in Thomas' case he wanted to go somewhere where he could play quarterback. LSU wasn't one of those places. Florida wasn't either. Miami was.

Not expecting them to be pulling in top-of-the-line classes every year. Most say Oregon has the speed and talent on their first string that can keep up with the SEC schools and such. But they aren't really deep at all. So they obviously aren't getting as many great players as other schools.

They have the 49th ranked class in 2006, and they go 7-6 that year with a blowout loss in their bowl game. Then they pull the 11th ranked class just a few months later? Maybe that has something to do with kids wanting to go there because they know they'll play. Who knows.

Believe james was a 3*He was also a sprint champ and UO is known as Track Town. Nothing strange about that.

Cowherd claims major college football program about to go on probation

#1 - Oregon
#2 - Texas
#3 - Bama
#4 - LSU
#5 - Oklahoma

#1 - Someone in SEC (said it was not Auburn so it leads me to think it is indeed an SEC school)
#2 - Someone in Big 12 (or leaving Big 12)
#3 - Someone in Big 10

Regarding Lache, Texas was going hard for him and then abruptly stopped and took back their offer. That never happens with elite RBs form Texas. There were message board rumors at the time that someone approached Mack and asked for $ and that Mack adios'd the guy and the kid right then. You never know what rumors to take as true but this one seems to be panning out.
