Terrible idea. No major TV company is going to push that product. Only a very small fan base is interested in that stuff. The shock factor wears off very quickly. Very few guys are willing to do that to their bodies. It's too much of a liability. There's no house show circuit nor revenue for that type of stuff, due to recovery time needed for the talent. I could go on and on.

I agree 100%. Jim Cornette perfectly describes why that kind of "wrestling" can never survive. You psychologically numb people to violence to such a degree that no normal angle will ever work again. And the shelf life of guys in these companies is non-existent, because they're suffering legitimate injuries, which makes them more prone to hardcore substance abuse.

AEW is trash. Some great athletes, sure. But the booking is awful and never makes sense and they don't even try to make it look like as fight. Just a bunch of highspots.

There’s truth to that

I mean Mae Young gave birth to a hand and Kane had a dead girlfriend he allegedly had sex with. He also “electrocuted” Shane mcmahons nuts and later became mayor of Knoxville Tennessee

We don’t need that shite

I do like what Josh Barnett is doing with his Bloodsport promotion.

This goes for every show aew and all 3 of wwe shows if the storylines make no sense and there is no payoff people won’t watch. I love wrestling and the only show that is good is nxt. Raw is repetitive and stupid
Smackdown has Roman and that’s it
Aew to much cheerleading routines and Kenny Olivier is boring. Nxt has better parts then awful stuff usually

as a kid I held out some small hope that it might still be real..

then I hit teen years at the same time as the Attitude Era, so I watched mostly to see Sable show her tits every now and then or to see if Chyna's dick would fall out

As an adult I can't even bring myself to stop on whatever channel it is.. it's no different to me than America's Got Talent 38

It died off when Vince turned it PG and started gearing it more towards children. If WWE regained its edginess and went back to R-rated content, it could get popular again. The characters are so bland and boring nowadays that nobody gives a shite about them.

Yep. I loved the gimmicks those guys used to have. Mankind, Undertaker, even going back as far as The Bushwhackers and Kamala, etc. Do any of them even have a gimmick anymore? Other than the yes, yes, yes?

I loved it as a kid and even in college. I knew it was predetermined but still enjoyed it. I was a big WCW fan. But it's not just fun to watch anymore. The wrestlers don't draw you in like in the old days.

Thread.

And that AEW stuff is boring as hell too. All these guys are horrible on the mic now and pretty much every angle has already been done. It’ll never be what it was in the mid 90s again
