Controversy surrounds Lane Kiffin as youngest head coach hire in NFL and SEC.

Fired after one season with the Raiders, Al Davis called Kiffin “a flat-out liar … bringing disgrace to the organization”.
Kiffin was issued a public reprimand by SEC commissioner for accusing Florida’s Urban Meyer of recruiting violations only to have the commissioner cite him for the same with Kiffin later apologizing to Meyer.
Kiffin told Alshon Jeffery he would end up pumping gas if he went to the SC Gamecocks. Jeffery went onto SC and is currently with the Bears, who prior to this year applied the franchise tag to Jeffery.
Kiffin left the Tennessee head coaching job in one season leaving for Southern Cal. Students tried to block the exits and started fires in response to Kiffin’s departure.
Kiffin returned to USC from 2010-2013, later fired by Pat Haden who decided to rid the university of its coach during the 3rd quarter of a 62-41 loss at Arizona State.

pat hayden did a great job replacing him. 
hired a drunk and his last dagger to his alma mater before swann came aboard was helton.

We're still recovering from the loss of scholarships today, so it's pretty remarkable that we posted a ten win season during his tenure. Kinda like y'all had a ten win season under Mike Shula while recovering from your own sanctions. Kiffin deserved to get fired though. He was a douche and still is. Very good football mind, but just not a good dude.
Now we have a really nice guy as head coach that's in over his head. Tee Martin is struggling as OC also.
If USC can beat ND and ucla, I can see Helton surviving the season to coach another year. If we continue down the path of shitty football we've seen so far, he gone. Maybe not til the season's over, but he gone.
Tom Herman of Houston would be my first choice. The money will do the talking though. We just have to hope that an A-list coach will listen.
Say hey to Sark for me. Always liked him, and even drunk as Bacchus, he was still a better coach than Clay Helton. Keep him out of Bear's desk drawer though. ;)
