The big question is why did the Cubs go to a rookie with an ERA over 6 to close out a game with their season the line?

Why do they stop the game and remove the base? Is it like the base is going to be stolen after the game ?

When Drew Brees broke a record did they take down a goal post? Or remove some f the playing field?

No but they gave him the ball which he promptly handed off to an equipment manager for safe keeping.

It's the same concept. He stole the base so it being a significant milestone, it's replaced and that is now "Ronnie's base". It being a significant milestone, that's the end of the bases "life" as an MLB base. Ronald gives it to an equipment guy, they replace base with a new one and the game is moved along. Same thing as Drew's football. They don't just keep playing with it.

are you serious with your comment? It's a fricking huge moment in baseball history. NO other player in history has ever done what he has done. It's a brief celebration

But riddle me this? Why do they tear down expensive goal posts after big wins?

Riddle me this? Why do they pop Champaign bottles and smoke cigars after winning things?

Hey, ridde me this? Why do the Astros cheat every year?

B/c it's a historic, seminal moment that has never happened in baseball before and probably never will again.

This is a stupid fricking comment and you should be ashamed.

Ronald is clearly going 50/80 next year.
