It's not a terrible area. Did your grow up in Martha's Vineyard or some place like that?

GT is a worse area than Turner Field.

What public transportation is there at the Cumberland/Galleria area?

I guess that's the thanks the City of Atlanta gets by giving the Braves the old Olympic Stadium. Dumb move especially by not putting it near a MARTA station. Wonder how much tax money Cobb is throwing towards this.

Assuming that map is the Braves fanbase, you made my point.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the whole relocation thing, but that's kind of dumb.

Home Park has some crime but Midtown is pretty safe overall.

I'm not sure where he is going with the idea that Turner Field is a better area than GT which is essentially midtown.

I'm not even talking about safety, just things to do. I'm not sure there is one restaurant within walking distance to Turner Field.

Just explain how the Turner Field area isn't a "terrible" area. What makes it not terrible?

I don't think that anyone really thinks downtown is nice. It has some good neighborhoods but Midtown and Buckhead are far nicer and more vibrant.

That is a valid point.

GT is not midtown.

In terms of safety the areas around GT are just as bad as TF.

I've never eaten there.

If they weren't going under before they would now though.

Tech is in West Midtown. Basically Midtown.

No they're not. There is the occasional robbery but that's about it really.

Neither

Missed the point entirely. The original statement had to do with the safety aspect of going to TF.

The problem with a thread like this is that there are too many tangents and arguments that branch off having nothing to do with what was posted.

Of course Cobb County is nicer than downtown. No one said otherwise. (except for the shady areas of Marietta).

Isn't this stadium pretty new, like 10-15 years old.

What a waste of money.
