or built something similar to Atlantic Station near where Turner Field is. there was room to do that IMO, they just maybe would have needed to re-stituate the current stadium's parking.

Surprised they didn't go after the Doraville location. Wouldn't have to worry about Marta.

I agree with this. I'm starting to wonder if there are major reasons this location won't work as neither the Falcons or Braves chose it. However, hopefully this means a NW marta line which is needed anyway.

IDK why Louisiana fans are so jealous of Atlanta's constant growth and working infrastructure

They are jealous because Atlanta sports teams actually have money and don't need to be bailed out by Mercedes.

Wasn't one of the whole pushes of the Olympics, that it would be great for infrastructure and revitalization or certain areas?

The Atlantic Station area is indeed really nice.

It's just odd that the two biggest signature things that were ostensibly built FOR the Olympics (or, at least with the case of the Georgia Dome, with the thought of helping allure them) are now going by the wayside. I don't get how folks are now celebrating the fact that the place where the Olympic Stadium was is not such a wasteland that the Braves need to completely abandon the entire area where they've been basically since their existence and move to the suburbs, and that the Georgia Dome is so "inadequate" they need a new stadium less than 25 years after it was completed.

But, I guess that's just coming from a jealous Louisianian.

Yeah, just think how much more happy I'd be if the Saints only had the money of the Falcons.

Turner field is in a terrible area with no access to public transportation. That isn't up for debate. It has already been said but the city nor the Braves really put that much money into Turner Field which is probably a reason why it was built where it was. Just bc Fulton County Stadium was located there doesn't make it the correct location.

We can go back and forth with how you feel about the ga dome but it will be 25 in 2017 and needs a lot of money put into it if it was to stay at an "elite" level. Taxpayers are not paying for it so I don't really see why anyone cares.

I'm good.

Thankfully, my hometown team provides me with more to be excited about these days than simply making 20 year old buildings obsolete.
