I would love that. I'm not the one who brings attention to myself everyone else does that.

I'm sorry if i seemed disrespectful. I never meant to have this topic revolve around myself.
I'll be praying for the family.

So much for adult supervision.....
quote:
A "drunk and belligerent" 17-year-old Notre Dame football recruit was killed in a fall from a fifth-floor hotel balcony during his senior-year spring break in Florida, authorities said Saturday.
quote:
"Witnesses and friends indicate he had become drunk and belligerent," Humphreys said. "He had leaned over the balcony rail, was shaking his finger at the people in the next room over. He fell over."
Humphreys said the railing at the hotel met the standards for proper height. He said police would be interested in pursuing charges if it was learned who provided the underage teen with alcohol.

About 40 students from St. Xavier and a half-dozen parents were on the trip to Florida, police said.

New Orleans Catholic and private schools kids have been going to Destin in masses for years now. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors throughout the several complexes in a certain area. Each group has severals parents and most kids are drinking and possibly using other substances, with or without parental supervision. I know the years I went (01-03) and my sister went after there was never an incident like this. The only things were fights with the Niceville kids and the occasional kid drinking way too much. So maybe the kid had never gotten drunk but I don't blame his parents for letting him go.

Are you serious? A kid died and that alcohol had to come from somewhere. Somebody is going to get thrown in jail for a long time.

Its fricked up if that happens. The kid was probably the one begging people to buy it for him, and he was gonna get it one way or another.
He wasnt forced to consume.
He wasnt forced to consume.

That doesn't make it legal and highly irresponsible of the adult who got it for them.

It doesn't matter if you voluntarily consume an illegal substance or not.

My point is that I can't stand how hypocritical it is. Should not every provider of alcohol be charged for every underage teen that consumed at spring break? The fact is, the only ones liable here are his parents, and himself. When you send your kid to spring break in panama you KNOW whats going to happen. You know they are going to drink and party.

I tend to feel the same, but you bet your arse the legal system is going to "make an example" of the supplier, and if it was a parent on the trip then its game over for that parent.
