So going 5/17 is fine when you come off an injury. Didn't that hurt the team more and he should have stayed on the bench?

You can say whatever you want, and will, but the guy just isn't a clutch player and doesn't respond well when the lights are the brightest in the biggest games. He has the biggest difference in production from the regular season to playoffs to big games in the playoffs I've ever seen, and many would agree with me. You'll pull out some WAR stat that shows he's on par with Jordan and Lebron and KD and Bird, but anyone who uses their eyes would rather have any of those 4 taking a big shot or playing in a big game over Harden and it's not even a debate

He’s not “coming off an injury”. That implies he is healthy now. He was playing hurt.

Eye test is subject to bias, numbers aren’t.

Peoples eye test will tell them Kobe is much clutch than bron. Not even close to the truth. The same #s will tell you harden is a lot better than Kobe in the regular season, in the playoffs, and in elimination games. You gotta be careful with “eye test”. Even in a courtroom the eye test is not known for its reliability.

That doesn’t matter… KD played his arse off the last three games… if you can’t see that then you really are stupid… maybe if Harden would have taken better care of himself he would not have pulled a hammy… but of course you blame CP3 for not being in shape a few years ago and did the same to Westbrook last year in the bubble….. so which is it???? Harden gets a pass and the other two don’t?????

Harden wasn’t in shape?

The team won at a 66 win pace when he played, by far the best in the league. 85% of those games without Durant

In his first game of the year he had 50 and 17 with no preseason.

After the first rd of the playoffs he lead the league at every advanced stat worth mentioning

So, you saying out of shape Harden is pretty easily the leagues best player?

So KD played like crap in this last series and Harden played great???? So I guess the only reason the Nets were even in these last three games was because of Harden……

Bkn was the #1 offense in league history with an “out of shape” player dominating the ball and leading the league in assists. The stuff I read here never ceases to amaze me.

I mean who cares. They beat up on a bad Celtics team and he looked good doing it.

As I have said before and will continue to say, he is fine in games where his team is winning or the pressure isn't ramped up. They beat the Celtics by double digits routinely so the games weren't that competitive in the 4th quarter. In the games that matter, in the fourth quarter, I would rather have him on the bench than on the court at all. Top 3 regular season player, top 15 first round playoff player, bottom 10 big time game contributor.

It is 100% in his head as well now too. He was missing wide open 3s BADLY in game 7. You'll say it was his hamstring and will defend him, but he has a mental block he needs to get over before he will perform well in clutch situations

my man, harden outplayed KD In KDs last two playoff series before this one. One they were on the same team, In the other they were up against each other.

This ain’t just a regular season thing.

Love how you fail to mention he had kyrie and KD to help with that. Two of the greatest offensive players in the league. Reckon I could average 5ast per with those two to pass to haha.

And yeah, out of shape Harden is still a really good player, whose stats get bumped across the board when playing with kyrie and KD.

his game isn't really based off athleticism, is it? You always say that, so yeah, he can play very well out of shape.

They easily win a title if healthy, and simple eye test shows that Harden wasn't in good shape, and it led to the hammy. Is what it is.

Bumped across the board?

Harden with kd and Kyrie off the o rating is 119. Which is better than the teams rating on its own.

When he does more the team is better.

Regular season stats don't matter. First round stats don't matter.

Give me a compilation of Harden's numbers in elimination games for his team. Tell me his record. If you do that for me and prove to me he is good when it matters the most, then I'll admit it. I think his numbers in those games will be PUTRID

After one series this year

After his last series v KD

He has thoroughly outplayed the “best player in the league” in KDs last two playoff series before this one. Oh and the team won a lot more with harden on the court than with KD.

The only argument for KD is aesthetics. He “looks” better. Bc he is 7 foot and graceful and all. But the numbers tell a much different story.

San Antonio is one of the largest cities in the country and is considered “small market”.

In Atlanta’s case, it is generally because you get a ton of transplants who are already fans of teams and who are NOT Hawks fans. Having a huge TV base in the region doesn’t mean shite if people don’t watch the games.
