Willie Cauley-Stein responded to the reported concern regarding his surgically repaired ankle, saying he was "kissing the rim" during his Miami workout on Monday.
"Ask the Miami Heat," who have the 10th overall pick and worked him out Monday, Cauley-Stein said. "I was kissing the rim. They don't think there's anything wrong with it... I've been to countless doctors. They say nothing's wrong with it. And I don't feel any pain. So it's just talk." The concern is that a pin that was inserted into his ankle is currently sitting at a 45-degree angle when it should be at 90 degrees, and it's not clear if the injury healed properly. The concern regarding his ankle may have him sliding out of the top-10 on draft day. Jun 23 - 5:28 PM

Pre-draft smoke. Teams are leaking this type of info hoping it scares other teams off.

Man I hope he doesn't drop to the hawks. I don't like him and just never have. Don't really know why. I think he will be an interesting follow in the league.

Yes as mentioned its just other teams saying this, as many have said he may be the most ready to help a contender out of anyone in this draft and thats saying a lot.
A lot of people have said he is a younger Tyson Chandler, but I think better IMO. He has a much better offensive game at this point in his career and a very mature mindset. He could wind up being the ROY if he goes to the right team.

I see him as a Tyson chandler type player. Anchors the D, great rim defense, always limited offensively, but easy lobs/dunks should be common. It's just about the expectations. If people expect shaq, they'll be disappointed. But if you can get a Dwight Howard type talent and not need him to carry your offense, he's a great long term piece for any team bc his skills translate to playoff basketball.

Def could be pre draft smoke screen...

But could be something. I mean hes a big guy that is very athletic and already has had a stress fracture injury and some teams could be concerned with how it has healed

I think he could potentially be a better Deandre Jordan.

DAJ might be a better projection. I'm not too familiar with his intangibles, but I love the type of player he could be at the next level. What team doesn't need another 7 foot rim protector?!?

I think he'd be perfect in Atlanta. Rim protector who can allow Horford to slide over.

It's impossible not to be competitive with a 7 foot rim protector on your team. Look at how Gobert suddenly made the Jazz good once he was starting.

WCS is one of my favorite players in the draft. I think he has a chance to become elite at his role. And that's the key to being valuable in the league I know it's insane, but I think WCS will have a better career than Okafor. I wouldn't draft WCS before Okafor, but I would trade down in a heartbeat.

This site had better still be running in 15 years so I can laugh at you.

Okafor will score more points, and there is always the chance that the Lakers surround him with elite talent and he wins some rings. But he won't be a Top 2 player on a championship team. No way. WCS will anchor elite defenses.

i agree, and speaking of injuries, Chanlder once failed a physica in 09'sl, 2 years later ended up anchoring the paint for the Mavs on their championship run.

Players heal. This is a non issue for WCS.

Just look at the elite rim protectors in the NBA, and just about all of them were drafted way too low looking back. There are some busts there (Thabeet), but I would say fewer than the other positions, especially because teams don't usually draft offensively limited big men high. I think they should though.

There's not a rim protector on earth that could make the Sixers competitive. And Noel is pretty good at it for his age.

Fair. If the 76ers had an actual roster of NBA players, I think they could be competitive. Also, Noel is still a little lean to be dominant.
