How important is it for us to finish 1st or at least 2nd among the 4 qualifiers? Does it give you a much better shot of a tolerable group in S. Africa?

It's seeding based on last two World Cup finishes and international ranking. LINK

He was on the roster in the qualifier against Cuba a month ago, but he wasn't in the roster for Trinidad & Tobago like a week after that.

Last I had read, he was playing for Watford in the English Championship League (one step below Premiership), so he'd be in mid-season at this point. I know he had been injured for a while a year or two back.

To the two posters about Subotic:

Yes I had heard the news out of Serbia. I'm glad it wasn't true, though. Kid should play for us since we took him and his family in....plus he's worn the jersey at the youth level before the "Rongen Raping."

(major respect for anyone who knows what I'm talking about)

I know he plays for Watford, but I thought all the international players were able to leave to play in their qualifiers?

They are, he just hasn't been called up for the 20 man roster since the match against Cuba last month.

Can someone tell me why Clarke ever sees the field? He might be okay in MLS I guess but I have not seen one good international performance from him yet.

This Cooper guy looks like a player though. I don't watch MLS so I have no clue who half these guys are.

US is dominating the attack, but we're still curse by poor finishing. Pablo gets a pass for a long strike getting blocked, because that was a great strike from pretty far out, but I just hate watching Altidore and cooper setting up the play with a great cross only to have it wasted.

Finishing is, and has always been, the US's major problem.

That was an almost perfect strike. Adu on the setpiece. Just an awesome goal.

2-0, US.
