Doesn’t SMU have a few losses and Liberty is at least undefeated?

Being undefeated clearly mattered more to the committee so that seems pretty fair to me.

Your multitude of posts in this thread asking me about Boston clearly demonstrate otherwise.

But you are all I got to work with tonight

It’s be nice if you were capable of keeping up.

You play the schedule you have.

And liberty’s was pathetic. As in, worst in the country pathetic.

And yet… the CFP chose them over SMU.

Oof.

What is this “committee” you are talking about with SMU/Liberty?

The only committee is the top 4. The rest is all completely independent Bowl contracts.

And yet… you still whine like a bitch every time it’s brought up how pathetic liberty’s schedule was.

And yet… you still have not attempted to reconcile how your beloved committee put alsbama over fsu and liberty over SMU.

Oof indeed

There is an interesting twist. If this is correct, then you are telling me the Fiesta Bowl rejected SMU in favor of Liberty University?

Nah. I know Liberty University finished the season 13-0. And their next closest G5 competition finished it 11-2.

Congrats. Well done to the SMU Mustangs. Deserving conference champions. They are going to represent the AAC well at the Fenway Bowl.

They were required to pick a G5 champion vs big 10 champ this year.

Big 10 went to playoff, so that changed to at-large. They took Oregon. Either SMU or liberty qualified or other slot.

Because they played the worst schedule in the country.

Literally.

Because they played 2 p5 teams OOC instead of umass and Buffalo.

Tell us again how you don’t care who I’m a fan of while continuing to do this

Interesting. So both qualified for the NY6 bid. Wonder why Fiesta chose Liberty rather than SMU?

Could not care less who you are a fan of. I am a fan of Liberty University. And they are going to the Fiesta Bowl to face Oregon. Apparently because the Fiesta Bowl committee wanted Liberty University rather than SMU.

Interesting.

how many posts have you made in this thread asking me about Boston again?

Because of the same people that said alabama should be in the playoffs ahead of florida st.

it’s not shocking at all that you have no idea how this works and are just blindly following another person that has no idea what he’s talking about, just like your beloved committee.

My apologies earlier for the misdirection on who to address your thoughts to. Apparently you need to take it up with the Fiesta Bowl committee as they make the decision on who they invite, not the College Football Playoff committee.

Try this instead;

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl

Apparently you did not know either because you continue to express dissatisfaction with the decision by the CFP. And it seems that they did not choose Liberty University over SMU to represent the G5 as the at large bid.

The Fiesta Bowl committee did.

Yikes.

They’re dumb

SMU is a lot bigger “name” and played in a stronger conference

Half the country still probably doesn’t know Liberty is in FBS now

Wrong. Committee wants to kill college football.

See, this is exactly what I’m talking about. You think because some random, incorrect poster came in and said the fiesta bowl chose liberty over SMU that it must be true. But it’s not. The highest ranked g5 conference champion is guaranteed a spot in one of the non-playoff ny6 games each year. The bowl games don’t decide the rankings of the teams, the committee does.

It’s so cute, you thinking you had a point when you clearly still do not

SMU had a great season, even with two losses. Too bad they did not gain more traction in the CFP. But they should be proud they finally managed to get ranked. Good on them. Huge accomplishment.

If Florida state had a competent back up they would of been in but they did not.

I think it's clear they'll look to the portal to find next years starting QB.

That was their third string QB that is a true freshman lol.

I’m not a FSU expert. Legitimate questions: Was Rodemaker not a very competent #2? Is he projected to not play in the bowl game ahead of the freshman #3? Is football not a team sport? Does every team not have players out with injuries?

Disclaimer: I don’t have a dog in the fight and totally disagree with an undefeated power 5 conference champ being left out behind two teams with losses. Chances are I’ll do like I did when the NFL went woke. I haven’t watched a game since. I’ll find other things to do with my time. The regular season doesn’t matter, meaning the post-season doesn’t matter and is not legitimate.
