That too, but I’m more concerned about this evening. Yuri is out and this has trap game written all over it.

Im not too worried about Lasalle without Yuri. Jgood is more than capable of filling in. but Daytons gaurds are much better than Lasalles

I was curious how VCU was this year and if that record was legit. Seems like they're always a dangerous team. Any more talk on VCU and Dayton potentially being a Big East target? I know there was some talk and rumors a few years back, but nothing ever came about it? I'd love to see VCU and Dayton go to the Big East.

Slu and Dayton are ahead of vcu regarding the BE.

Xavier may have something to say about sweater vest U’s chances.

In a perfect world, SLU would be the choice. Top 25 media market with a strong recruiting base and also have established rivalries with DePaul and Marquette.

Disagree 100%...Dayton has basketball pedigree. Dayton has much much more basketball success historically than St Louis. They were going to be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tourney last year. Dayton's basketball following might be the best in the entire state of Ohio. They love their Flyers in Dayton. Dayton has a natural rival with Xavier and Butler as well. St Louis is waaaay to far west to be in the Big East.

Like this matters
You got a team in Omaha, which is further west than all them (and I’m using MSG as the reference point)
I also don’t think Xavier really will have any say in Dayton not getting in.

I think the Big East is happy where they are right now and we won’t see an addition for some time

Basketball history is irrelevant when it comes to economics. If it wasn’t, then Mizzou would still be in the Bevo 12 and Rutgers in the AAC. This is all moot because the BE is not going to expand anytime soon.

X may try to stop SVU, but SVU checks on the boxes. especially with the renovations. VCU just finished a new gym, that is maxed out at like 5k. And Richmond isnt exactly an exciting market.

SLU brings extra regional games for CU, Depaul, Butler, and X. thats gotta hold some weight. Plus it as one of the best arenas in college basketball.

Not once you break it down. Technically SLU has a national title. While they trail SVU by 8 in apperences, its likely to be just 7 after this year. Not a huge gap.

Dayton was on their way to a 1 seed, true. But until Covid break SLU had, almost every compueter had them a top 3 seed.

There is zero love lost between Xavier and Dayton. Those two teams do not like each other at all. In a state with a lot of good college basketball rivalries, that one is easily the most underrated.

It isn't as well known outside of the area because of how nasty the Cincinnati/Xavier rivalry is.

Dayton brings great value as a solid program with a super loyal fan base. They always pack the arena for Flyers games and even the First Four because they love the school and basketball there.

Just guessing but I'd think since most of the members are Catholic schools, they'd lean toward SLU, Loyola-Chicago and Dayton over VCU.
