I think they should go back to a single game championship

Dumb. Besides they'll never vote to allow that to happen. The coaches love the 2 out of 3

The single game championship gave us the 21-14 game. Those teams were pitching their bat boys.

the game to Thursday evening instead of Thursday at noon when most of the US is working.

I love expect that decision was based on all the fans from each school having to alter their hotel and travel plans. And the teams. Im sure almost everyone was due to fly out some time today and be back with their families today and at work tomorrow. Playing the game early means they still can, just will be delayed a few hours instead of an entire day. The world does not revolve around you and your tv watching convenience.

I know it'll never go back. It was just something I enjoyed more. One crack at it, winner takes all.

I think at times you are right and I just don't see where there's a movement to make it better or more popular

hendersonshands mentioned this last night, and i've been harping on it all tournament.... the umpires are god awful. the k-zone has made these guys look like fools. they're calling shite three inches off the plate constantly.

i think it's ridiculous that pitchers are getting calls like then when there have been 4 home runs hit the entire college world series. with these bats and this park, the hitters already have no advantages. don't give the pitchers even more.

The forecast last night called for more thunderstorms in Omaha this afternoon. That's why they went with the noon start time.

Never said the world did revolve around myself, it would make sense to have the biggest college baseball game played in primetime rather than middle of the day on a weekday.

Interesting fact:

Coastal Carolina changes to the Sunbelt conference at 12:01 AM July 1st. Had they started at 7:00 and the game gone really really long, and they won, would they be the first team to start playing in one conference, and win the championship in the other conference? Which conference would claim the championship? Also, they are changing equipment providers at the same time. Would they have to have new uniforms ready and change at midnight?

That was tongue in cheek. Interesting tidbit, though.

Of course. That's why the 1st 3 games were originally scheduled for 7 p.m. But shite happens and you adjust accordingly.

I was thinking last night that I can't recall too many rainouts in Omaha since I've been watching the CWS. It must not rain that much in Nebraska in June. Or I could just have a terrible memory.

And I'm with whoever said that college baseball is not fun anymore. I can't force myself to watch unless LSU is playing. I was actually gonna try to tune in a bit last night since it was the finale game and I was familiar with CC.

But they have taken away everything that was unique about college baseball and tried to turn it into the MLB game. Only with far inferior players, which in turn, makes for a far inferior product. To me, it's similar to college basketball now. With so many teams making the tourney, it makes the regular season moot(and the worst one in sports). No games--by themselves--really mean anything. And since all the good players leave early now, it is just a vastly inferior product than the NBA. I'd much rather watch a January game between the Nets and Kings than one against UNC and Duke.

It remains quite popular with me and where I watch many games in person; Starkville. I would like to see them do something to speed up the game a bit, though.

Nah, for a sport like baseball, a one game championship is crappy.

Hell 96, 97, and 2000 LSU championship games were all Saturday games on CBS.

When CBS got the championship game rights, they insisted on a one game winner. They even wanted to move the championship game to Yankee Stadium. I kind of resented CBS and the NCAA for allowing any of that to happen since really, ESPN put college baseball on the map from early on.

It seriously seems like they are trying to ruin the sport. College Football and Basketball get more popular every year and baseball continues to dwindle.

Change back to the old Bats, fix something about this shitty arse ballpark and get more coverage during the regular season. So tired of this Euro garbage. Bring back America's pastime.
