Has there been a sport more hell bent on not being popular?
The rule changes they've made have made the game difficult to watch at times.... For a diehard.
The new show prove stadium has what looks like white lattice for trim and you have to be a 6'6 gorilla to hit a ball out of the damn thing. Even on a bad pitch with a perfect swing!
Anyone notice the empty seats?
They changed the championship format from winner take all on national tv on Sunday afternoon when it competed with nothing, to a three game set on ESPN19.
And now they finally get a game three deciding match with the biggest Cinderella in a decade... And the game is at noon on a Thursday???
ETA you guys were right on the games being on Saturdays. My memory fooled me

Because yeah.. they can control the weather, and made it lightning and rain just so they could move the game to Thursday.

Edited to add:

Y'all are right, I'm not so much. I was focusing on the Thursday, not the noon on Thursday. That's dumb. Should have just moved it to same time, next night. Unless that would have affected hotel reservations and what not.

That is not a typo. It's not a there/their situation where its easy to accidently type the wrong word. You edited your post and still had it wrong. You cannot spell lightning. You are stupid.

And yes, having the game at noon is pretty ridiculous.

They could've moved the game to Thursday evening instead of Thursday at noon when most of the US is working.

College baseball simply isn't that popular. And the game was on ESPN, not one of their other channels. Chill out

The game today will be on the U. I understand that they need to put Wimbledon on the main. But at least give them a little respect by putting the championship game in espn2

Hell 96, 97, and 2000 LSU championship games were all Saturday games on CBS.

As a fan, this game is really unpopular. Any chance it had at estibilishing a fan base went out the door with the faux wood bats.

I agree with most of your post except for this

I think this was a great improvement. They should have played the first 2 games of the championship series on Sunday (move other games earlier in the week to make it happen), and have the game 3 if necessary Monday night. Oddly enough, Monday nights seems to be the preference for the championships in football & basketball.

Many schools couldn't give a frick about college baseball. The southeast is the exception, especially Louisiana.

Want to make college baseball popular? Then play the season during the summer, not the winter. Then the whole nation would be involved. Instead, it will just remain a regional sport.

I think they should go back to a single game championship.

The European Championships are also on today with kickoff slated for 2:00 p.m.

I'd assume they couldn't risk the game rolling over into that coverage, since you know, the entire world will watch that.

Umm...the first two were on ESPN.

The only reason today's is on ESPNU is because it was postponed from last night.
