personally, i think he's staying. he's not leaving his HBCU for anything that's not a top tier job (florida state, auburn, etc.)

Deion deciding to coach was a social statement as much as anything.
So you know what Sanders is thinking/ his exact motives? Prime likely took this job because no FBS school would have handed him a HC job at the time.

He doesn't really need the money( I'm sure his assistants would like pay raises though) , but whenever he needs another challenge & bigger budget I would understand.

Bigger schools offer a massive upgrade in the financial dept. At CU he'd make 7x or more than at Jackson State.

My hope is that he stays at JSU and gets a few more years experience and then when he leaves he leaves for a better job than what he is being offered.

Is it hypocritical to use a HBCU as a stepping stone to a regular college?

right, no doubt, but he could easily get an actually good p5 job soon enough

i just don't see him leaving what he's built at jsu for colorado or usf... but i could definitely be wrong. he's a bit of wildcard compared to most coaches.

Houston Nutt's longtime oline coach, Mike Markuson is Prime oline coach.

Odd fit

One other thing is that he's 55 so he's not old but he's not a young coach either. Maybe he feels like he needs an accelerated path to prove himself.

Deion should do this on live TV with the school hats on the table.

ETA: Missed someone posted this already but by God it's perfect. I need it.

There’s no guarantees though. Prime may not have a 11-0 record next year, so strike when the iron is hot like how other coaches notoriously haven’t

I think he would do well at USF, great recruiting grounds and a place that has done well in the not so distant past.
