ETA- it’s legit hilarious that you’re trying to make something out of the Titans and Ravens performance considering the much larger body of work we have the last 1.25 years. It’s also par for the course as you blamed everyone but him last year too.

It’s pretty hypocritical to just ignore his rookie year then. I don’t think he’s nearly as bad as you’re making him out to be, I also don’t think he’s on some elite starting QB trajectory or anything. He has a lot of warts and is very inconsistent but the highs are also very good

He’s a bottom third QB in the league. That’s where he’s made himself out to be and where I believe he’ll settle by the end of the season.

He doesn't even have Tank Dell back yet either Kirk, Hutchison and Collins went off today on that Ravens defense.

Do things like an atrocious OL, the top 3 WR last year all missed time with injuries and little to no running game after Mixon got hurt get factored in or nah because it doesn’t suit your narrative?

Using his week 5 stats when half the league still hasn’t played is cute.

Fill in the blank: CJ Stroud is a top _ QB in the league.

I doubt passer ratings and comp % will change much in rankings, but I'll be sure to let you know where he ranks after this week.

Spoiler alert, it won't be bottom third in the meaningful categories.

Happy to have you back stanning for Stroud. You were no where to be found when I made the original thread even though you clearly read it.

16

He’s in the Top Half. Maybe not much better than that, unless he returns to rookie form, but I do believe he’s somewhere between 12-16 right now.

Maybe you’re right - a real stan would have been here defending him when the thread was first made. Instead you waited until he had two solid games against trash defenses like a coward.

No particular order that are better than Stroud right now:

Allen
Burrow
Mahomes
Stafford
D Jones
Hurts
Goff
Darnold
Herbert
Prescott
Mayfield
Daniels
Love

Then there is a batch of young QBs that are all TBD and Stroud is maybe somewhere in there - Maye, Williams, Penix, Nix, Rattler, etc. Tack on guys like Murray, Lawrence, and maybe even Tua and you start to see bottom third isn’t too far off if it’s off at all.

Stroud’s numbers coming into today were essentially the same as Spencer Rattler’s numbers.

That’s frankly a silly way to look at it but somewhere between 10-18 really depends on how you judge the other young QBs with limited starts so far. Daniels like Stroud had a great rookie year, but it’s still only 1 year. Or Nix, Maye looks promising but doesn’t have close to a years worth of starts. Or Love, 1 great year, not as good year 2. Williams has been better statistically since the Bears lost to the Texans last year but would you definitely prefer him?

There are 32 teams 1/3 is 10.68:

Do Tell which of these 11 you’d rather have?
Rattler
Gabriel/Flacco
Dart/Wilson
Wentz/McCarthy
Young
Lawrence
Fields
Penix
D Jones
G Smith
Tua
Then there’s Ward a rookie with 5 starts and Rodgers a top 5 all timer but he’s been pretty bad since 2023. That’s 13

Daniel Jones obviously right now.

Maybe Lawrence or Tua but that’s a toss up and that’s about the QB I think Stroud is when it’s said and done - going to get a big extension and going to be mostly bad throughout it.

I mean…if we’re talking just the first five weeks of 2025, then yeah. Would you honestly say that if we’re including the past 2-3 seasons with Q1 of this season?

I’m good with questioning if Tua is better. We’ve seen some good shite from Tua when healthy. The others, Stroud overall has done more.

Now I will say, Nix is looking good. But I do think he has a much better play caller than Stroud.

I do think Penix can possibly be really good in a system that maximizes his abilities. Not sure what to think about Lawrence.
