The linked list obviously gamed that issue by including Ruth at RF so he can also have Gehrig at 1B.

Ruth played the majority of his career in RF. I don’t understand your point.

P - Pedro Martinez
I think a team of only modern players would beat that team...

C - Pudge Rodriguez
1B - Albert Pujols
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Adrian Beltre
SS - Alex Rodriguez
RF - Ichiro Suzuki
CF - Ken Griffey Jr
LF - Barry Bonds

DH - Edgar Martinez

I agree. But as big of a Ryan fan as I am, if I’ve got an all time choice on a game I absolutely have to win, it would be hard for me not to want Randy Johnson on the mound.
Fair enough.
I think I can beat the Big Unit with Gibson or Koufax.

Steroids or not, if you have an all time starting 9 and Barry Bonds isn't in it, you should not be allowed to talk about baseball for a living.
What bullshite.
Obviously, you are wrong and your personal opinion means less than nothing.
There are waaay more than enough people employed to talk about baseball for a living who don't think he should be in the HOF or an All-Time Best 9 Man Lineup.
If that were not true, the question would never be raised.
Again, you are wrong and your personal opinion means less than nothing.

Hmmmm... I guess guys don't have to play their primary position?
OK. Then I'll have to decide between Clemente, Morgan, Mantle, Trout, Dimaggio, Cobb, Musial, Griffey, Murray, etc... at 2nd.
(Although Wagner at SS and Morgan at 2nd are my guys)

Bonds and Ruth are the best two hitters of all time. There's no debate to be had here.

Jeter at shortstop. Finally someone with some sense.

Bonds yes. I put Ted in Ruth's place. Definitely top-3 or 4.

Stanley Musial and his .331 career average would be in the convo had he played in a larger market. And I’ll take Mays over Bonds, just because of the smaller hat size.

Ted’s average was 13 points higher, but Stanley had 1k more hits for the career. Both missed time bc of serving. Two great ballplayers.

Old old school is Old Hoss Radbourn. He once went 60-12 with a 1.38 ERA. 73 starts, 73 complete games, 441 strikeouts. Also had a save in there for good measure.

Wonder if he had Tommy John in the off-season.
