The complete ignorance of some of you Saint fans is ridiculous
Ignorance is believing something just because someone said it is so.
Goodell merely says the Saints had a bounty program, and you blindly go with him, despite very clear actual evidence that the NFL has been lying, or at the very least, mischaracterizing things that have been made public.
I'm not even saying there was no bounty. But it's ridiculous to say it's naive when you're operating with ZERO evidence.

According to Goodell and gang there's a boat load of evidence!

This is not a trial by jury.
The quicker you learn that the better.
And unless you are telling me that Goodell has something personal with the Saints, I would like to assume he has evidence.
But you aren't even getting my point.
If you are going to attack the creditably of the evidence then do that.
Saints fans are pissed because they don't think bounties are a big deal... regardless of the evidence or lack thereof, he is not punishing strictly because of bounties.

Im still waiting for Saintards to realize that:
A) the coverup and the continuation of the bounty program after being warned not to do it is why they have been penalized so hard
B)not succeeding in the act that is breaking the rules is still breaking the fricking rules.
The complete ignorance of some of you Saint fans is ridiculous.
No offense, but this is pure comedy gold coming from an Ohio State fan whose fanbase STILL defends Jim Tressel's actions in the whole tattoogate case.

Being called something I'm not from a clear OSU hater is laughable.
I don't care what you think about the majority of fanbase at OSU, but unlike them...it is Jim Tressel's fault.
And maybe you and all the other saintards can learn a lesson from good ol' JT. The cover up is worse than the crime.

I comprehend that you expect him to hand over evidence even though he doesn't have to.
Fair enough?

Please explain to me your conspiracy theory as to why Goodell would personally punish a team for stuff they did not do? A team that greatly benefited the NFL and Goodell the year they won the superbowl and after the events of KAtrina.
You can respond to my whole comment this time if you like as well.

Just curious here...
If the NCAA came out and said Tressel and some players were guilty of some things and OSU was in trouble and so were the players.
But Tressell and the players denied it ever happened.
And finally, the NCAA never showed you any sort of evidence that it did actually happen the way they said it did.
YOur response would be?

Well, you didn't even bother to try to answer the thing I asked you to explain, you dodged it. I'll try once more:

How do you explain that? If the NFL is misrepresenting that, then can't they be misrepresenting more? Is it crazy for a fan to see an organization lying about that, to simply ask for the evidence(yes, I know he doesn't have to give it up)???

I would be upset...but again you misunderstood my point completely.
BE PISSED that he hasn't shown evidence. I would be too. But some of you are going to use the "bounties aren't bad" excuse instead of the "they have no evidence" excuse...I am going to respond by saying that the bounties were just the crime...not the cover up.
Understand?

If it's pay to injure, that's not good. I think it's pretty damn normal in the league, but it's certainly not good.
if it was pay for performance, big flippin deal, that's not bad at all.
Without evidence or admissions, how do I know which one the Saints are guilty of?

If that's your position then it's obvious you stopped paying attention to the story a month ago.
The cover-up/continuation after being told to stop was the reasoning the NFL gave for the suspensions of Payton, Williams, Loomis, and Vitt.
Go read the leagues own statement regarding the suspension of the players. No mention of coverup or lies. They only thing cited for their suspensions is the bounties.

I can't explain it....so thats why I asked you...what is the end goal of Goodell punishing a team that was considered the class of the NFL 3 years ago..the same team that represented what NO overcame after Katrina?

OSU players getting tattoss for gold pants isn't a big deal either. JT covering it up is.

he got wind of some sort of evidence, we don't know what. Given the NFL being proven to be lying/misreprsenting hargrove's declaration, i'm not gonna sit here and say with 100% certainty that i beileve Goodell when he says the Saints were paying players to injure others.
The Saints could be guilty of much smaller infractions but Goodell is using this opportunity and exaggerating them to cover the NFL's arse down the road.
Again, not even saying I believe that, but I most certainly am not gonna say that is a crazy hypothetical, given what the NFL has said already that has come to light to not be fact.

Sure it is still a rule.
But if that was the case, hypothetically, these penalties would be on par with the police finding a dude smoking a joint and arresting him as a felon who is some kingpin drug dealer.

Add to the fact that the reason Payton was suspended so harshly was the supposed lying and covering up over the course of 3 years. Well you have exactly 2 players suspended that were on the Saints past the 09 season. If this was as far reaching as the NFL is claiming shouldn't there be someone else guilty? I can definitely see the scenario where williams gave vilma the 10k to wave around prior to the playoff game...in fact i'm 95% sure something like that happened...but where the hell is the rest of the story here?
