Rivera's seat is red hot in Carolina. I think they need to blow up that coaching situation and try again.

They fired their GM earlier this season, so a new GM is likely going to want to bring in his own guy.

Didnt know this.

Chip has no experience with any NFL coaching and it would be a puzzling move on his part.

According to this article yesterday, he might be trying to pull a Carroll...

A looming NCAA investigation into the Oregon program could be a contributing factor in Kelly going through with the NFL move this time around.

The NCAA has been conducting a lengthy investigation into possible payments to intermediaries with ties to recruits. And while the governing body has announced no timetable for any decisions, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, the sanctions could be severe and a decision could be coming after the season. In recent months, the NCAA has conducted interviews lasting six hours or more with “recruiting services” personnel connected to the program, and NFL executives see the situation as being similar to when Pete Carroll left USC to head to the Seahawks in 2010. Carroll bolted to Seattle with sanctions looming, and months later USC was hit with a two-year bowl ban and scholarship reductions that have plagued the program throughout Lane Kiffin's tenure. Carroll had interviewed for NFL jobs in previous years, most notably with the Dolphins and 49ers, only to remain in the college ranks, but finally left for Seattle at a time when the NCAA was getting close to leveling discipline against the program.

One of the best franchises to be with for a coach? And a playoff contender?

But from what I recall, Haley was a front office hire and Arians was maybe "encouraged" to retire?

Either way, he's done a pretty good job with Indy and I have heard his name mentioned as a possible HC next year.

Haha, he makes it so obvious. Why even hide it anymore? Had you noticed already as well?

Some coaches that leave college for the pros (Butch Davis, Saban, even Greg Schiano) had some form of coaching at that level already. Chip has no experience with any NFL coaching and it would be a puzzling move on his part.
While it makes be puzzling, he's still wanted in the NFL. It'd be most interesting to see what type of offense that certain team would display.

Kelly + Cam would be SCARY but if they are fickle enough to fire Rivera after 2 seasons they'll never give Kelly enough time to rebuild so...

I don't think Carolina has to completely rebuild as much as fill some holes. They need Special Teamers, O-line, WR/TE (Besides Smith & Olsen), and tighten up the Secondary and that should at least get them to .500

Kelly's not going to run the exact same system he has at Oregon he'll have to adapt so with the pieces Carolina already has I think he could build the team to his needs

O-line
This is their biggest problem.

Denver wrecked their offensive line. It reminded me of the Iron Bowl when Auburn sacked Brodie Croyle countless times.

Chances are its most likely going to take more than 2 years to rebuild.

With some bad luck(like they have had this year) Kelly could easily have them going in the right direction but it not show in the record. If the Panthers front office is fickle enough to fire Rivera this year then the chances of Kelly making it out of the rebuilding process aren't god

I agree with what your saying about the Panthers appearing fickle if they fire Rivera. It just seems that with the firing of Hurney and the statement that Cam will be the last QB he drafts, Richardson is wanting to win now and not later which may require a HC change
