Yesterday, the Chiefs set a new offensive record: lowest Time of Possession ever by a home team in a full game, since TOP was adopted as a stat in 1977
quote:

According to ESPN’s Trey Wingo, the Chiefs’ time of possession of 20 minutes, 12 seconds was the lowest total for a home team since the NFL began tracking that statistic in 1977.

League’s best offense will only go as far as Kermit’s ankle

That’s pretty wild given the offensive ineptitude we’ve seen in this year alone. Guess part of that is when they did score they did it quickly

Mack and Hyde gashed them.

I wonder what will happen when they face good RBs like Cook and Gordon.

Mack is a better back than Gordon

good RBs like Gordon.

Since ending his holdout, 15 of #Chargers RB Melvin Gordon’s 20 carries have gained 3 yards or less (75%).

8 of his 11 targets have gained 3 yards to less (73%).

All told, plays intended for Melvin Gordon have averaged 2.77 yards.

Just 1 of them (3%) has gained a first down.

We said this about some saints offenses. Can score at will. Issue is leaves your defense high and dry and can't possess the ball to run things dry.

Plus Andy Reid has been allergic to running the ball his whole career. Yesterday they had 11 rushes.

There are much more serious problems than his ankle.

Patchwork offensive line
Inability to run the football
Defense's inability to stop the run

This is a perfect recipe for getting dominated in TOP. Mahomes still threw for 275 and 3 TD yesterday, putting up 24 points on offense despite their all time record-low Time of Possession.

Reid HAS to find a way to run more often and more consistently. Really dumb operating that O like it has been last two games.
