Game Over Green lives.

Rangers have won only one playoff game in Verizon Center. Ever. What a friggin game.

No beer. I have bourbon instead.

So fitting Green ended that game. He's been through hell and back in his series' against the Rangers. He is playing great this round.

And Rick Nash remains winless in the playoffs.

Nash had a chance to win it in regulation. He it the post. Because it's the playoffs, and that's what Rick Nash does in the playoffs.

My only complaint is that Ovie didn't assist the game winner, because he deserved to. His passing was amaze-balls all game. Backstrom and Mojo both missed wide open nets after perfect Ovie passes.

Chris Botta @ChrisBottaNHL
From @KennyAlbert on NYR Radio, Ryan McDonough's shift was 3:04 when he cleared puck over glass before Caps' GW PP goal.

Wow.

Oh, very cool. It felt like an unassisted goal. He just took it at the point and fired it like a cannonball. Woot!

I do like when stats bear out my observations. I spent the entire game curing out Mike ribiero, who I felt was terrible tonight, while Ovie was generated chance after chance. Corsi numbers:

Ovie 17, Backstrom 22
Ribiero -9, Erat -7

That felt right. The second line was bad al night while the rest of the team generated constant pressure. Especially Ovie. Tour de force game for him. No goals, but one of the best end to end games I've ever seen him play. Just dictated the play all night.

man crush on oleksy, guy was our best defenseman aside from Green tonight. He is just everywhere and is crafty. He has an incredible story too.
